Üsküdar Communications receives 3 more awards…

The results of the Young Communicators Competition, organized for the 33rd time this year by the Journalists' Association of Turkey and the Aydın Doğan Foundation, have been announced. Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication won 3 of the awards given in 4 branches and 14 categories. Thus, Üsküdar Communication has increased its total number of awards to 20 in the last 5 years. 

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication students added new ones to their awards. 

In this year's Journalists' Association of Turkey Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, projects from 62 successful students from 18 universities were ranked.

In the competition, held for the 33rd time this year, where awards were presented in 4 branches and 14 categories, 3 of the awards went to Üsküdar Üniversitesi students.  

Outstanding Achievement Award for “Abortion Journey”

Esma Helen Sarıgül, a student of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication's Journalism Department, won the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Internet Publishing category with her interview website titled “Kürtaj Yolculuğu” (Abortion Journey), advised by Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan.

Second Place Award for “Farmer's World”...

Hande Serra Keskin, a student of the Faculty of Communication's Journalism Department, won the second-place award in the Internet Media Site category with her news website titled “Çiftçi Dünyası” (Farmer's World). The news website, advised by Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, featured news and interviews related to farming.

Third Place Award for “My Career Guide”

In the competition, Journalism Department student Sefa Mert Kahraman also won the third-place award in the Internet Site category with his website titled “Meslek Rehberim” (My Career Guide). The website, advised by Research Assistant Atila Erdemir, featured interviews about different professions.

In the 32nd Journalists' Association of Turkey Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, one first place, four second places, and two third places,

In the 33rd Journalists' Association of Turkey Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, a total of 20 awards were won, including one outstanding achievement, one second place, and one third place.

Award Ceremony Will Not Be Held

Instead of an award ceremony that annually brings together young journalists and veteran figures of the journalism profession, a different format has been developed this year. Accordingly, students who won awards in the competition will receive mentorship support from leading figures in the sector to develop projects that will contribute to earthquake awareness this year. With these projects, which they will develop by the end of the year, young people will gain an incentive to start their careers with contemporary communication trends and tools, while also contributing to keeping the social memory alive in earthquake regions.
