Üsküdar Üniversitesi experienced double graduation joy and excitement this year. The 7th Period Graduation Ceremony of the 2019-2020 Academic Year, which could not be held due to the pandemic, was organized together with the 8th Period Graduation Ceremony of the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Little Üsküdar students, who attended the diploma ceremony with their mothers, became the center of attention with their specially designed mini gowns, witnessing colorful moments. Şahan Şengül and Rüveyda Gönülalçak, 2019-2020 graduates of the New Media and Journalism Department working at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Corporate Communications Unit, also experienced the excitement of organizing their own graduation ceremony in addition to receiving their diplomas.
The Üsküdar Üniversitesi 2019-2020 Academic Year 7th Period and 2020-2021 Academic Year 8th Period Graduation Ceremony was held at the Ümraniye Millet Bahçesi Event Area, presented by Şaban Özdemir and Ece Tözeniş.
Little Üsküdar Students Became the Center of Attention
Graduates experienced exciting and enthusiastic moments during the graduation ceremony, which was held in a diluted manner due to the pandemic and lasted for three days. The ceremony also witnessed interesting and colorful moments. Some graduating students received their diplomas with their babies and children in their arms. A tiny baby, who attended the Faculty of Health Sciences Ceremony with her mother, became the center of attention of the faculty members and participants with her specially tailored gown.
Received Her Diploma with Her Little Daughter
On the second day of the ceremonies, Ebru Yiğit Akgül, a graduate of the Dental Prosthetics program from the School of Health Services, also received her diploma with her little daughter. The fresh graduate Akgül experienced the joy of graduation with her tiny daughter. Some graduates also attended the ceremony with their beloved pets.
They Worked for Their Own Ceremonies
Şahan Şengül and Rüveyda Gönülalçak, 2019-2020 Academic Year graduates from the Faculty of Communication, Department of New Media and Journalism, both graduated and took part in the organization of the graduation ceremony. Şahan Şengül, who works at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Corporate Communications Unit, carried a banner that brought smiles to faces as he went on stage to receive his diploma.
The banner featured an expression belonging to a trend that has recently been on the agenda on social media platforms. The banner read, "Do you think I got a job at the university I graduated from and organized my own graduation ceremony?", while Rüveyda Gönülalçak continued to manage Üsküdar Üniversitesi's corporate social media accounts until she went on stage to receive her diploma and even after receiving it.
Şengül and Gönülalçak started working part-time at the Corporate Communications Directorate during their student years, and after their outstanding efforts and performance were appreciated, they stepped into professional business life at the Corporate Communications Directorate after graduation.
OHS Graduates Received Diplomas with Their Hard Hats
Graduates of Occupational Health and Safety from the School of Health Services also received their diplomas with their red hard hats.
The graduation ceremony was also broadcast live on Üsküdar Üniversitesi's ÜÜ TV and Üsküdar Üniversitesi's official YouTube page.
On the first day's ceremony, diplomas were presented to graduates of institutes, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. On the second day, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Communication, and the School of Health Services Vocational School held their 1st Ceremony. On the third day of the Graduation Ceremony, graduates of the School of Health Services Vocational School received their diplomas.
