Üsküdar University took center stage in the scientific world at the 4th IVF and Infertility Society Congress with the MESSAGE Science Mission project, conducted as part of Turkey's first manned space mission. The study, led by Dr. Cihan Taştan, General Director of Üsküdar University NPİCELLAB İTTÜ Biotechnology and Director of TRGENMER, sheds light on pioneering research in the fields of space biology and reproductive genetics.

At the congress held at the Elexus hotel in Cyprus, Dr. Cihan Taştan, General Director of Üsküdar University NPİCELLAB İTTÜ Biotechnology and Director of TRGENMER, and Beyza Aydın, NPİCELLAB İTTÜ Biotechnology & TRGENMER R&D Officer, attracted great interest from participants with their presentations.

Innovative approaches shaping the future were evaluated

Dr. Cihan Taştan, in his speech titled “Rewriting the Future: A Turning Point in Embryo Genetics,” evaluated the biotechnological challenges encountered in embryo genetics and innovative approaches that will shape the future, based on experimental data obtained within the scope of the MESSAGE Science Mission.

Taştan stated that this data creates new research axes not only for space biology but also in the fields of human health, fertility, and genetic engineering.

The importance of multidisciplinary studies was emphasized

Beyza Aydın, in her presentation titled “Cosmic Codes: Germ Cells and Embryo Genetics in Space Missions,” addressed the genetic effects of space conditions such as microgravity and cosmic radiation on germ cells and embryonic development.

Aydın emphasized that the multidisciplinary studies conducted within the MESSAGE Science Mission provide critical data for the preservation of reproduction and genetic integrity in space.

Studies offer strong contributions to Turkey's vision

These studies, pioneered by Üsküdar University, make a strong contribution to Turkey's vision of becoming a global player in space biotechnology and genetic research.

The MESSAGE Science Mission, led by Dr. Cihan Taştan, aims to produce innovative solutions across a wide scientific spectrum, from reproductive biology to genetic engineering, in line with the goal of making humanity's presence in space sustainable.
