A Therapy Story Through Dreams from Üsküdar Alumna Nursena Balatekin…

The work titled “What Brought You Here? A Therapy Story Through Dreams,” published by Ketebe Publishing House, explains the impact of dreams in the therapy process.

Author Nursena Balatekin included the following words in her book:
Life sometimes knots within us; soul and body drift apart. While one part tries to resist life's burdens, the other quietly surrenders. Ahu, caught between her academic career, marriage, and inner world, is not merely a traveler in her own life, but a lost stranger. As her body is crushed under its burdens, her soul yearns for tranquility and wholeness; precisely in this impasse, her path crosses with therapist Süreyya. Süreyya is not just a therapist, but a guide; she takes Ahu from the noise of the modern world on a journey towards that pure silence forgotten in the depths of her soul, to the essence of existence.
On this journey, dreams act as whispers, an ancient language spoken by the soul, guiding the therapy. Each dream maps the secrets hidden within Ahu's inner labyrinths, serving as both a mysterious mirror of the unconscious and a deep echo calling her to her essence. Dreams are like lamps burning on the bridge between body and soul; each connects past with future, consciousness with existence.
This work is not merely the story of a client and a therapist; it is also an inner compass inviting every reader to question their own being, the ancient balance between soul and body. It reminds us of a powerful truth: When the soul returns to the body; life begins anew.
