Üsküdar academics at the Eurasian Psychology Conference

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of Sociology Department Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı and Head of Psychology Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Özdoğru took part as speakers in the opening session of the online International Psychology Conference held within the scope of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Psychology Department of S. Amanjolov East Kazakhstan University.


Many scientists from Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Russia attended the first day of the conference organized under the title "Eurasian Psychology Science and Experience: Interdisciplinary Trends." The event, where Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of Sociology Department Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı and Head of Psychology Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Özdoğru took part as speakers in the opening session, will continue for two days.

"Pandemic revealed new problems regarding loneliness"

Süleymanlı, who made a presentation titled "Loneliness During the Pandemic Process" at the conference, emphasized that loneliness had already been prominent globally with its increasing dimension even before the pandemic. Stating that the conditions of the pandemic period created new situations and problems regarding loneliness, Süleymanlı said, "Especially the weakening of our social ties due to social isolation deepened loneliness. The 'increased feeling of loneliness' brought about by the pandemic is also confirmed by research conducted in different countries," and shared the results of research conducted in various countries on the subject.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Özdoğru, in his speech titled "Replication Studies in Psychology," explained what replication studies are, why they are conducted, and how they can be performed. Özdoğru also gave examples from his own published replication studies and invited the audience to conduct similar studies and join groups doing so.
