TÜSEM 2025 Spring Meeting held in Istanbul was hosted by Üsküdar University

The meeting brought together the directors of Continuing Education Centers (CECs) from universities across Turkey in Istanbul. Held under the main theme of “The Contribution of Continuing Education to Sustainability and a Roadmap for the Future,” the event covered a wide range of topics including artificial intelligence, ethical responsibilities, educational technologies, and community contribution models. One of the key agenda items was the need to maintain the verification of certificates issued by Continuing Education Centers through the e-Government system.

The TÜSEM 2025 Spring Meeting was held on May 16–17, 2025, hosted by Üsküdar University and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

During a special session attended by representatives from 30 universities across Turkey, TÜSEM President Prof. Yusuf Ziya Halefoğlu delivered a presentation titled “Atatürk and the Founding Philosophy,” which was well received and dedicated to May 19th, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Halefoğlu shed light on how Atatürk’s vision for education is reflected in today’s approach to continuing education.

Analysis through AI algorithms...

One of the standout presentations was the session titled “From Data to Value: Strategic Modeling with Artificial Intelligence in Continuing Education,” where sample applications were shared on how CEC data could be analyzed using AI algorithms to develop more effective policies.

Emphasis on Certificate Verification in e-Government

A key highlight of the meeting was the emphasis on the continued need for verification of certificates issued by Continuing Education Centers through the e-Government platform. Participants stressed the importance of maintaining this practice within the framework of transparency and trust. There was a consensus that these factors should be considered in higher-level decisions and steps should be taken to make the system permanent.

The two-day program concluded with a culturally rich finale, including a visit to the Istanbul Museum of Painting and Sculpture of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and a chamber music performance by students of the Istanbul State Conservatory.

The meeting was attended by 30 institutions, including Anadolu University, Atatürk University, Boğaziçi University, METU, Gazi University, Selçuk University, Istanbul Aydın University, Izmir University of Economics, Fırat University, Trakya University, and TED University.
