Prominent figures from politics, press, and academia gathered in Üsküdar to develop and strengthen Turkish-Hungarian friendship.

The breakfast program held at Istanbul Filizler Köftecisi brought together the Hungarian Delegation, diplomatic representatives Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center Director Dr. Gábor Fodor, Deputy Director, poet and translator Balázs Szőllőssy, Hungarian Consulate General in Istanbul Commercial Attaché Miklós Bujáky, Turkish-Hungarian Businessmen Association (TÜMİŞAD) President and Honorary Consul of Hungary Osman Şahbaz, Üsküdar District Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek, Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen, former Bahçelievler Mayor Osman Develioğlu, Journalist-Writer and President of Dostlar Divanı Sami Özey, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Secretary-General Selçuk Uysaler, Chief Physician Dr. Tekin Yılmaz, Businessmen Mehmet S. Küçük, Sadık Güllüce, Mustafa Yalçınkaya, Serdar Yeşil, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarık Özçelik from Kırklareli University History Department. The meeting, where Turkish-Hungarian cooperation, culture, friendship, and trade were discussed, created a platform for good wishes and collaborations.
The breakfast meeting, held in a sincere and warm atmosphere, continued with tastings of Turkish breakfast varieties, Rumeli meatball, and Turkish desserts. Liszt Institute Hungarian Cultural Center Director Dr. Gábor Fodor stated, ''Today we will contemplate Istanbul, where the splendor of the Bosphorus, at the intersection of Asia and Europe, is reflected, in a fairytale misty environment. Being able to experience historical and modern Istanbul together is a unique richness. Istanbul is also a very important and serious tourism destination. The two friendly states have declared 2024 as the Turkish and Hungarian Year. Throughout the year, we will carry out many social, cultural, and sporting events. We will deepen our friendships and collaborations with our sister cities. Üsküdar and Kaposvár will contribute to these events by implementing important projects as sister cities. We are increasing our cultural relations and foreign trade day by day. We are ready to do our part to elevate our existing potential.''
We will continue to strengthen these collaborations with friendly Hungarians
Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen said, ''In recent years, cultural activities of this kind have made a distinct contribution to maintaining strong and intensive friendly Hungarian-Turkish relations. This friendly sister relationship between Üsküdar and Kaposvár, and between our municipalities, has been growing for six years. We had previously visited Kaposvár and hosted my dear friend, Mayor Szita Károly of Kaposvár Megyei Jogú Város, in Üsküdar. In the upcoming period, we will continue to strengthen these collaborations with our friendly Hungarians.''
I am very happy to contribute to cooperation between two friendly nations
Honorary Consul Osman Şahbaz said, ''I am delighted to be together with our valuable Hungarian and Turkish friends in Üsküdar, the pearl of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, during a time of dense fog affecting Istanbul. I am very happy to contribute to the cooperation between these two friendly and fraternal nations.''

After the exchange of gifts at the cooperation meeting, the Hungarian delegation and guests departed from Salacak.
