The project report titled "Turkish Barometer 2024: Current Approaches to Education and Scientific Cooperation in Turkic States", in which sociologists from Üsküdar University actively participated, was introduced to the public at a widely attended international conference held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
With the project, a roadmap for cooperation in education and science in Turkic states was determined.

The project report titled "Turkish Barometer 2024: Current Approaches to Education and Scientific Cooperation in Turkic States", a comprehensive research project aiming to strengthen cooperation in education and science among Turkic states and actively involving sociologists from Üsküdar University, was introduced to the public at a widely attended international conference held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

The project is considered an important step towards building a common future in education and science in the Turkic world. With the project, a roadmap for cooperation in education and science in Turkic states was determined.
The project, prepared by the Turkic Academy, headquartered in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, a faculty member of the Sociology Department at Üsküdar University, was shared in detail at an international conference held at the Azerbaijan Social Research Center on April 21, 2025. The conference brought together the research findings, which evaluate existing cooperations in education and science in Turkic states and offer strategic recommendations for the future, with academic circles and the public.
Azerbaijani MPs, university rectors, embassy representatives, and numerous academics, experts, and institutional representatives from both within Azerbaijan and abroad attended the international conference organized in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Social Research Center and the Turkic Academy. The event stood out as an important platform paving the way for concrete steps to further advance educational and scientific cooperation among Turkic states.

The conference will contribute to the development of cooperation in education in Turkic states
Zahid Oruç, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Social Research Center and Azerbaijani MP, speaking at the opening of the conference, greeted the participants and underlined the importance of the conference, which will contribute to the development of cooperation in science and education in Turkic states.
Prof. Dr. Şahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Academy, stated in his opening speech that the research focuses on examining approaches to existing educational and scientific cooperations among Turkic states. Prof. Dr. Mustafayev emphasized that this study not only identifies the current situation but also aims to develop implementable strategies that will strengthen educational and scientific cooperation in the Turkic world.
At the event, the research findings were shared through detailed presentations by academics from the research group representing Turkic states.

Project research coordinator Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı stated in his speech that while the conducted research aims to analyze the current state of educational and scientific cooperation among Turkic states, it also offers a comprehensive perspective on how the region can integrate into the global education and science system and what the economic, social, and cultural consequences of this process might be.
They made presentations on cooperation in education and science in Turkic states
Elmin Nuri, Expert from the Social Research Center representing Azerbaijan; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurlan Baigabylov from L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University representing Kazakhstan; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Atmaca, faculty member at Düzce University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Çağırtkan, faculty member at Izmir Democracy University, representing Turkey; Prof. Dr. Jumaniyaz Ramatov, Head of the Philosophy Department at Tashkent State Transport University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farogat Fayzieva, faculty member at Alisher Navoiy Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, representing Uzbekistan; and Dr. Ali Ünal, faculty member of the Sociology Department at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University, representing Kyrgyzstan, presented statistical data on public perception, expectations, strengths and weaknesses, and potential development areas regarding cooperation in education and science in Turkic states.
Following the presentations, views were exchanged on how education policies, academic exchange programs, joint research projects, and institutional cooperations could be developed.
Sociologist Melike Demir from the Sociology Department of Üsküdar University also took part in the project's Turkey team.
