Üsküdar Üniversitesi has added a new one to its pioneering approaches in digital transformation by launching "FTSmart", Turkey's first and only smart academic performance management and improvement ecosystem.
Built upon the Activity Tracking System (FTS) developed five years ago, FTSmart analyzes the university's data from previous years and offers smart recommendations for improving academic performance.
Üsküdar Üniversitesi has added a new one to its pioneering approaches in digital transformation by launching "FTSmart", Turkey's first and only smart academic performance management and improvement ecosystem. Built upon the Activity Tracking System (FTS) developed five years ago under the leadership of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector and Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, FTSmart analyzes the university's data from previous years and offers smart recommendations for improving academic performance.
Developed by the university's Department of Digital Technologies and Software Development under the visionary leadership of Chairman of the Board of Trustees Furkan Tarhan, the FTSmart system tracks the academic, administrative, and educational activities of faculty members with real-time big data analysis, providing justified recommendations for multidisciplinary research.
While enabling academicians to track their work in a measurable, transparent, and more efficient manner, FTSmart also supports Üsküdar Üniversitesi's mission to increase scientific productivity.
FTSmart allows all academic and administrative units with relational connections, including Application and Research Centers, Working Groups, and student clubs, to collaborate and interact with each other.
While 4 years of data stored with a project, publication, and research-oriented interface in line with institutional priorities reaches an analyzable size with FTSmart, the added Generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) is also trained with this data, enabling it to generate instant answers to researchers' verbal and written questions.
FTSmart not only analyzes individual performance; it also suggests multidisciplinary collaboration opportunities. This allows faculty members to discover potential projects and evaluate interdisciplinary collaboration possibilities. This AI-based system aims to play a critical role in shaping the university model of the future, positioning Üsküdar Üniversitesi stronger in the global academic arena.
The data-driven FTSmart system aims to elevate not only the individual performance of academicians but also academic success across the university. Developing artificial intelligence technologies not only provide faster and more accurate access to information in academia but also pave the way for new scientific discoveries by building bridges between different disciplines. Pointing out that Üsküdar Üniversitesi is part of this transformation with FTSmart, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel stated that the system contributes to conducting scientific studies on a more innovative and collaborative ground, and that the AI-based system will also play a critical role in shaping the university model of the future.
