Emrullah Şanlan, Istanbul Provincial Head of the Turkey Youth Foundation ( TÜGVA ), and Abdullah Yonca, Istanbul University Coordinator, visited Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Psychiatrist and Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi. The delegation exchanged views with Tarhan on today's youth.
Şanlan and Yonca, who visited Tarhan in his office, spoke to Tarhan about the foundation's work for young people.
Tarhan, expressing his satisfaction with the visit, offered suggestions on youth policies to the delegation, which carries out work for young people.
“The Young Generation is Alienated from Society and Themselves”
Stating that it is important to speak the same language as young people, Tarhan said, “Our youth have currently become children of popular culture. We must not lose them. It is important to speak the same language and build bridges with them. While there was a period where individuals matured amidst difficulties, scarcity, and impossibilities, the current generation matures amidst abundance and comfort. Therefore, we need to develop methods to ensure their psycho-social maturity. The development of generations is as important as the development of cities. Otherwise, we might not find generations to live in our cities. We need to explain the important figures in our culture to our youth using today's language and methods. We must present the past to them under today's conditions.”

Following the visit, Tarhan and the delegation presented gifts to each other.
