An event titled ‘Transformation from Analog to Digital in Photography and Cinema’ was held by the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Visual Communication Design Department within the scope of Design Workshops. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koştumoğlu, faculty member of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Basic Education, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ragıp Taranç, faculty member of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Film Design and Directing, participated in the event, which attracted significant interest from students.
The moderation of the online event was carried out by Dr. Lecturer Dicle Yıldırım from the Visual Communication Design Department.
Head of Visual Communication Design Department, Prof. Dr. And Algül also attended the event.


Different approaches regarding cinema's relationship with technology were discussed at the event, which featured digital turning points in the history of photography.
Transformation in the Analog Process Discussed
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koştumoğlu, faculty member of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Basic Education, spoke about the transformations photography has undergone from its analog process to the present day. Koştumoğlu discussed the undeniable impact of photography on society by conveying its technical and technological backgrounds.
How the Transition to Digital Universes is Made Today was Emphasized
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ragıp Taranç, faculty member of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Film Design and Directing, informed the students about the position of moving images in people's visual world from past to present and how these positions have transitioned into digital universes today.
Within the scope of the event, important anecdotes on the coexistence of cinema and photography in technology, technique, philosophy, and daily life practices were conveyed to the students.
