A training on “Personal Protective Equipment in Occupational Safety” was organized by the Occupational Health and Safety Program of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Vocational School of Health Services. In the program, where Class B Occupational Safety Specialist Oğuzhan Çakır participated as an instructor, Çakır stated that personal protective equipment in occupational safety does not prevent work accidents and emphasized that the ergonomic approach is the correct use of personal protective equipment.

“He Taught Occupational Health at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, His Alma Mater”
Çakır, a graduate of Üsküdar Üniversitesi's Occupational Health and Safety program and an expert in the field who also lectures at various universities, shared his theoretical and practical experiences in the training titled “Personal Protective Equipment in Occupational Safety.” The training, held at the Çarşı Campus OHS Laboratory, attracted significant interest from first-year students of the Occupational Health and Safety Program. The training, conducted in two blocks, saw regular students attend the morning session and second-shift students attend the afternoon session.

“Theoretical and Practical Training Was Organized in the Field of Occupational Safety”
Çakır, who also works at DMB Occupational Safety Materials Consultancy and Training Services, provided practical training using equipment from his company and the OHS laboratory after the theoretical session.

“Personal Protective Equipment Does Not Prevent Accidents in Occupational Safety”
Çakır, who has specialized in working at heights within occupational safety, advised students to specialize in the area they find most appealing within the multidisciplinary field of Occupational Health and Safety. Çakır emphasized the importance of learning by asking questions, being curious about what they don't know, and researching during practical lessons. Drawing from his experience, Çakır conveyed the necessity of mastering technical terminology related to the field and offered motivating and impactful suggestions as someone who has walked the same path. Emphasizing that Personal Protective Equipment in Occupational Safety does not prevent work accidents, Çakır said; “The ergonomic approach ensures less impact from work accidents and occupational diseases when personal protective equipment is used correctly. My fellow students should read the user manuals for personal protective equipment.”
