The first phase of the UNIDES project titled “Together for Palestine: Stand in Solidarity Through Culture, Share Through Friendship” was launched through the cooperation of Üsküdar University Department of Health, Culture and Sports International Student Relations Office teams ISSTeam and TFTeam, in collaboration with the Intercultural Club.
The event aimed to draw attention to Palestinian culture and the ongoing humanitarian crisis, strengthen cultural solidarity, and raise awareness among students.

The first stage of the project was held at the Üsküdar University Health Campus Event Area with strong participation from international students.

The event began with an opening speech on Palestine delivered by Asst. Prof. Gülcan Ayral, Manager of the International Student Relations Office at Üsküdar University.

Intercultural communication fostered through mentor meetings

As part of the project, participants were treated to künefe, a traditional dessert from Palestinian cuisine. Mentor meetings were also organized to encourage interaction, sharing, and intercultural communication among students.

Meeting held with the Ministry of Youth and Sports UNIDES representatives

During the event, meetings were held between representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports UNIDES, Asst. Prof. Gülcan Ayral, Office Assistants Sinem Bayram and Tasnim Saka Laik, and Project Coordinator Ahmad Mozaik, a student at Üsküdar University. The discussions focused on the scope, implementation process, and progress of the project.

During the meeting, the project’s implementation process was described as a model example. Ministry representatives expressed their appreciation for the team’s coordination, collaboration, and effective project management.

With the participation of a wide and diverse audience, the event was successfully completed as a meaningful gathering that strengthened solidarity and friendship bonds through culture.
