The Üsküdar Üniversitesi Vocational School of Health Services (SMHYO) Pathology Laboratory Techniques Program organized “The Silent Art of Tissues and Cells” exhibition. The exhibition was presented to visitors at the Çarşı Campus between December 1-3, and at the Health Campus between December 9-10.

The exhibition, prepared under the coordination of Prof. Dr. İbrahim Öztek, Head of the Medical Pathology Department at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine, and Lecturer Dr. Eda Yetimoğlu, Head of the SMHYO Pathology Laboratory Techniques Program, was met with great interest.
Dr. Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Director of SMHYO, Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Feride Kulalı Özdek, academics, and students attended the opening of the exhibition.

Tissue samples forming the foundation of pathology were exhibited
In the exhibition, macroscopic and microscopic tissue samples, which form the basis of pathology, were displayed accompanied by visuals. The works detailed the macroscopic features of organ tissues, cellular structures, the results of various staining techniques, and the morphological reflections of diseases on tissues.

Science and art intersected
The exhibition aimed to demonstrate that the science of pathology is not merely a technical process exclusive to the laboratory environment, but that scientific knowledge can also transform into an aesthetic expression through the unique shapes, colors, and textural details possessed by cells and tissues.
In this respect, the exhibition highlighted the intersection of science and art.
The exhibition made a significant contribution to students' development of professional skills, enhancing their competence in identifying and interpreting pathological structures, and enabling them to evaluate their field from a broader perspective.
