Asst. Prof. Hacer Fulya Üçem, a faculty member of the Department of Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Dentistry (English) of Üsküdar University, has completed the Turkish translation editorship of the 7th edition of the book titled “Orofacial Pain: Clinical Evaluation, Diagnosis, and Management,” one of the most respected reference sources worldwide published by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Published in Turkish and meeting a significant need in the field, the work holds the distinction of being the first edited reference in Türkiye on orofacial pain that also includes perspectives from neurology and psychiatry.

Among the editors of the book are DMD Prof. Gary D. Klasser from the Department of Clinical Sciences, School of Dentistry, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and DDS, PhD Dr. Marcela Romero Reyes, Clinical Professor at the Department of Neural and Pain Sciences, School of Dentistry, University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Director of the Brotman Facial Pain Clinic. The Turkish translation editorship was undertaken by Asst. Prof. Hacer Fulya Üçem.
The book, for which Dr. Üçem also served as the sole editor of the Turkish edition, is the first edited reference in Türkiye on orofacial pain that includes perspectives from neurology and psychiatry.
