The Board meeting of the Haydi Tut Elimi Rehabilitasyon Eğitim ve Yardım Derneği, which operates within Üsküdar Üniversitesi, was held. Chaired by the university’s President of Üsküdar University and the Association’s Board Chairman, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, the meeting addressed agenda items such as educational and scholarship criteria and communication strategies. In his remarks, Prof. Tarhan emphasized that reaching disadvantaged at‐risk groups is a social responsibility and that the top priority should be prevention and protection.
The meeting, held in the Senate Hall of Üsküdar University’s Main Campus, was attended by President of Üsküdar University and Chairman of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan; General Coordinator Prof. İsmail Barış; General Secretary Ayşe Banu Güngenci; Treasurer Ayşegül Şekli; Vice President for Projects Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar; Vice President for Health Services Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan; Vice President for Social Activities Serpil Tarhan; Vice President for Press and Public Relations Barış Sürekli; and Vice President for Civil Society Relations Gürcan Onat.
The meeting was moderated by Prof. İsmail Barış, Vice President for Commissions.
Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “Reaching disadvantaged risk groups is a social responsibility”
Prof. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized that the top priority should be prevention and protection. He said, “It is very important to reach disadvantaged risk groups. Reaching them is a social responsibility and a moral obligation for those who have the means. Prevention and protection are essential. The same principle applies in healthcare, and it should not be focused solely on treatment. We must work to prevent illness before it occurs. That is our primary goal.”
Details of the ‘İnciler Gülsün Diye’ program were shared
Later in the meeting, details of the “İnciler Gülsün Diye” (“So That the Pearls Smile”) program, organized once again by the Haydi Tut Elimi Rehabilitation, Education, and Assistance Association, were shared.
