Experts state that vocational school graduates have the advantage of finding employment in a short period, adding that there is a need for many health professionals and technically trained human resources in the healthcare sector.
Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan, Director of the Health Services Vocational School, noted that being a two-year Vocational School graduate offers many advantages, stating, “I believe that technical staff alleviate the labor force and also have an effect in preventing unemployment.”
Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan, Director of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Health Services Vocational School, evaluated the issue by emphasizing the importance of the need for associate degree (2-year) graduate technical staff.
“Whether you are an associate or undergraduate graduate, being individuals who do their job honestly is important”
Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan stated that a career is a very important life journey in terms of progressing in a chosen profession, taking on responsibility, gaining status, and earning economic income. He added, “The stages and durations of this journey vary from individual to individual. However, the most important fact here is to be quality individuals who do their job honestly, beyond being an associate or undergraduate graduate, to be beneficial to society.”

Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan explained that there are many graduates working as technical staff, and the majority of them can reach the right places professionally. He stated, “The need for technical staff in our country is increasing day by day, and we provide graduates that meet the needs at our university with the feedback we receive from our external stakeholders.”
Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan stated that besides graduating from a good university and program, individual effort and determination are also effective in achieving success. He said, “Success is more about being a family than individuality, and most importantly, it is a great team effort.”
Noting that Üsküdar Üniversitesi Health Services Vocational School students also have the opportunity to work in other institutions affiliated with the university, Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan continued:
“One of the most beautiful aspects of vocational high schools and associate degree programs is that they open up a valuable place in life for individuals who find employment in a short time. Another aspect that makes me happy is being able to see our graduates who complete their education in a short time, experience economic relief, and continue their education at higher levels independently. Young people gain an advantage in finding jobs by having the opportunity to enter the workforce through vocational training and summer internships while still studying.”

Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan emphasized that among healthcare team members, not only professions like medicine and nursing but also many health professionals and technically trained human resources are very important. He said, “Regardless of the program they graduate from in vocational schools, they can access job opportunities in many hospitals, clinics, and biomedical fields. However, in our country, although vocational high school graduates might find it slightly more challenging to find job opportunities, Vocational School graduate technical staff are more fortunate in this regard.”

“Being a two-year Vocational School graduate has advantages in many ways.
