An end-of-term concert was held by the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Institute for Sufi Studies as part of the “Sufism and Music Education Program.” The program, which delved into the intricacies of Turkish Sufi Music and religious music, brought together art lovers. During the concert, the knowledge and experience gained throughout the program were showcased on stage, with select works of Sufi music performed by artists and participants.


The end-of-term concert took place at Üsküdar Üniversitesi South Campus, Fuat Sezgin Hall. Students, artists, and guests attended the event organized by the Institute for Sufi Studies.

The Sufism and Music Education program is conducted every year for 8 weeks during the Fall and Spring semesters by Conductor Elif Ömürlü Uyar. This year, the program's end-of-term lesson, held between November 3 and December 22, 2025, was organized as a public concert.

Prof. Dr. Elif Erhan, Director of the Institute for Sufi Studies, delivered the opening speech of the program, emphasizing the spiritual and academic aspects of the education process. Erhan stated, “Today, we are here with our participants, our esteemed instructors, and from the valuable family of our teacher Yusuf Ömürlü, who made very significant contributions to the field, Elif Ömürlü Uyar and Prof. Dr. V. Emre Ömürlü. I extend my separate thanks to everyone for conceiving and supporting this beautiful concert.”

Elif Ömürlü Uyar: “As we become immersed in these works, our perspective on life and our horizons change”
Speaking at the concert, Elif Ömürlü Uyar drew attention to Sufism's transformative effect on one's perspective.
Uyar said, “Sufism changes one’s perspective. As we become immersed in these works, our perspective on life and our horizons change. Today, we will have a lesson with the compositions of our master Yusuf Ömürlü. On this meaningful night, as we enter the month of Rajab and observe Regaip Kandili, I pray that our prayers are accepted.”

The event continued with the performance of select works of Sufi music by artists and participants.
The concert, which featured emotional moments, concluded to great applause from the audience.
