The opening speech of the event, held at the Central Campus Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Savsar, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering. Savsar stated that industrial engineering is one of the disciplines whose purpose is to find solutions to industrial problems; "The discipline of industrial engineering began with the aim of finding solutions to industrial problems. During its application as a profession, the discipline of industrial engineering changed and became intertwined not only with industrial problems but with all problems in service sectors and other sectors. Industrial engineers are concerned with the design of assembly lines, conducting work study analysis, designing work centers, striving to increase productivity, and the productivity of workers in industrial environments. However, today, organizations have become very complex, and planning and control issues have emerged. Solution approaches without scientific principles and engineering design have become impossible."

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Savsar; "Students who work on projects can communicate better..."

Savsar, mentioning that he has involved and trained hundreds of students in some fundamental projects in various companies over the past 20 years; "I can undoubtedly say that students who undertake projects in the industry, applying some of the tools they learned during their studies, become more mature, can communicate better, write reports, and work more effectively. As the Department of Industrial Engineering at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, we are aware that we must equip our students with sufficient infrastructure and practical experience to cope with real-life problems. In the past three years, we have collaborated with different sectors of the industry, involving them and striving to contribute to the education process and development in our department. We formed an external advisory committee and met with them twice to receive their recommendations for curriculum development. We also collaborated with various organizations and some distinguished executives, and even trained our faculty for the improvement of our industrial engineering program."

Dr. Lecturer Münire Berna Beşkese; "Analytical thinking and innovation are very important..."

Dr. Lecturer Münire Berna Beşkese, Head of the Industrial Engineering Department's Education Quality Improvement Commission, stated in her speech; "Our journey with our external stakeholders began three years ago. I think we met online about a week later, held a meeting, and told them we wanted to improve our education system; this was our first meeting, and after the meeting, we received recommendations from them. We received important advice, which was that we needed to teach our students how to do teamwork and how to improve their communication skills. We designed our curriculum accordingly. We made sure they took creativity and innovation in the first semester and Start-up projects in the second semester. Our customers, in fact, are initially our human resources department because they either hire our graduates or they don't. So we said, let's talk to them, listen to their advice, and get their preferences. What are the skills and competencies they want from our graduates? That's why we designed our curriculum backward and revised our courses based on their feedback. So, analytical thinking and innovation are very important here."

Ahmet Albayrak; "I discovered how important what is called 'value' is..."

Ahmet Albayrak, Deputy General Manager of Kuveyt Türk, stated that he has been working for 35 years and half of it as a senior executive during the event he attended. Albayrak; "While working in institutions, I discovered how important something called 'value' is. Values are definitely spread through people and create a corporate atmosphere. Once that corporate atmosphere is formed, a life begins there. The people who create these values and pursue them form those institutions. In fact, the story here begins in the 8th century with the Islamization of Turks. In the midst of our civilization, there is a person called 'Feta'. 'Feta' means brave. These people formed the Ahi Brotherhood after settling down. First futuwwa and brave men, then Ahi. Ahi means brotherhood of the brave. Such brave men first established the Seljuk State and then the Ottoman Empire. That is why the institutions established by the Seljuks and Ottomans created a civilization. The Ahi, in fact, brought together their beliefs, professional lives, social lives, and undoubtedly all their spiritual lives. In other words, they lived an integrated life. They looked at their profession this way, and they looked at life this way. In my opinion, the Ahi have three main characteristics; being companions to each other, their other characteristic is raising people, and their final characteristic is supporting and serving society. They placed people at the center of their work."

Ahmet Selim Çelebi; "In the culture we grew up in, we never looked at humans as a mere resource."

Ahmet Selim Çelebi, Global Human Resources Director of Hayat Holding, Kastamonu Entegre, emphasized the importance of the Ahi organization in his speech. Çelebi; "Thank you all very much for inviting me to such a wonderful organization. I see myself as a product of the Ahi philosophy. In the culture we grew up in, we never looked at humans as a mere resource. I believe that every contribution made to such a person, from their foundation and growth, is very meaningful and valuable. I congratulate all of you; it has truly been a beautiful journey, and may the learning journey never end. We will continue to support you under all circumstances, I want to state this clearly."

Ertan Karamehmetoğlu; "Working in the quality department is very valuable..."

Ertan Karamehmetoğlu of EKMO Consulting (Former SIEMENS Gebze Factory Quality Manager) spoke about the importance of quality. Karamehmetoğlu; "It is truly a pleasure and a great honor to participate in this event, to do my part for our students, and to give them what is real in terms of quality. Life for a quality and industrial engineer means perhaps working as a quality manager or in a quality department in the future. This is a very valuable thing."

Dr. Burak Alptekin; "It is truly an honor to be here."

Dr. Burak Alptekin of Bab-I Hayat Sağlık, Eğitim ve Destek Sistemleri congratulated the award-winning students and celebrated their achievements. Alptekin; "We congratulate our award-winning students and their professors. Coming this far and finally achieving an award is truly a great success. Believe me, this is just the beginning. When I graduated from medical school, I always thought, you know, I would have the capacity to truly understand and influence people in this situation, but life taught me that my education has just begun and continues as if I've just started school, like on the first day. It is truly an honor to be here. It's wonderful to see young people continuing their lives and education. To see them as part of a growing society, especially in your field, I think this is one of the most needed areas because you are the people who understand systems and are there to optimize them. There is only one thing I will ask of you: do not forget the concept of humanity, as long as you have it. Remember that we are all here to serve humanity. If you look at history, you will see that the only successful things that are not forgotten are those done for the good of humanity. Good or bad, if you do things for humanity, you will find a way to be remembered. I truly trust you. Thank you."

Prof. Dr. Osman Çerezci; "We operate like an Ahi institution..."

Prof. Dr. Osman Çerezci, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, stated in his speech; "I thank you all very much as institutions supporting us in this regard. At our university, of course, with the support of our founding rector, we operate like an Ahi institution."

Onur Yılmaz; "All people are an asset to us."

Onur Yılmaz, Quality Systems Development Group Manager at Hayat Holding, Kastamonu Entegre, participated in the event online. Yılmaz; "I believe Professor Münire and I got in touch approximately two or three years ago, just before or at the beginning of the pandemic years. We had wonderful idea exchanges with her and through these brainstorms afterward. We tried to give lessons in the quality control course, and we wanted some topics in this course to be related to our applications in the sector I work in. All people are an asset to us. That's why I want to share my knowledge with you. We call our applications in the sector operational excellence, and we only covered two techniques from these applications. One is 5S, and the other is problem-solving techniques. I hope that in the coming years, we will do much more for our people, our assets from our country, and the global world, so sharing your knowledge is very valuable to us. Finally, I want to thank all of you for sharing my views here."
