Üsküdar Üniversitesi continues its international collaborations. The 'Study Tour' event held with Hong Kong Chu Hai College aimed to increase Erasmus & Exchange Program Mobilities. Important figures from Chu Hai College attended the event.

The event, held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi South Campus Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, was attended by international figures including Jane Zhang, Vice President of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, and Prof. Thomas Chan, Director of the Hong Kong Chu Hai College One Belt One Road Research Institute.
The event also hosted Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Head of the Department of History at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dr. Lecturer Uygar Aydemir, Hong Kong Trade Development Council Turkey Representative Perran Ersu Özçaldıran, and Head of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Neuromarketing Department Dr. Lecturer Selami Varol Ülker.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “We attach great importance to scientific cooperation between countries”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, delivered the opening speech of the event. In his speech, Tarhan stated; “We are gathered here for this important agreement between Chu Hai College and Üsküdar Üniversitesi. As Üsküdar Üniversitesi, our vision is to establish more interdisciplinary relationships with international partners. In this context, we were founded as a thematic university from the beginning. We have an R&D focus, especially in health sciences, engineering sciences, and behavioral sciences. We have a very strong infrastructure for studies to be carried out in these areas. Our students can work in our laboratories on neuroscience and neurogenetics. I would like to state that we are ready for such joint projects. This year, we made a significant innovation regarding our university's infrastructure related to health sciences and neuroscience. We have an AI-supported MRI device, which is one of 7 in the world and the first in Turkey. We are open to neuroscience studies. We attach great importance to scientific cooperation between countries. We are very pleased that you are partnering with us in student exchange programs in this regard.”

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, in her speech, said; “We are very happy to host you at our university. Üsküdar Üniversitesi is one of Turkey’s most important foundation universities. It is a significant university with the quality of its education, the nature and vision of its scientific research. Currently, it contributes to scientific studies by conducting important international-level research worldwide, especially in neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, and behavioral sciences in general. The fact that our university is the only university representing our country in the G20 is an indication that we have set a global vision in scientific studies and in the education we provide. It is a great pleasure for us that you will join us in this process and that we will collectively realize this process of scientifically serving humanity and the world.”
Aiming to increase cooperation…
Jane Zhang, Vice President of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, connected online to the “Study Tour” event and pointed out in her speech that the new partnership agreement has started productively. Zhang stated that they aim to increase collaborations with various projects in the future.

Prof. Thomas Chan, Director of the Hong Kong Chu Hai College One Belt One Road Research Institute, stated in his online speech that they would carry out studies to increase collaborations with the ‘One Belt, One Road Project’. He noted that they aim to increase Erasmus & Exchange Program mobilities between Üsküdar Üniversitesi and Hong Kong Chu Hai College.

Following the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, shared her presentation titled “A General Overview of Turkey's Development in the Context of Eurasian Connectivity” with the participants.

Dr. Lecturer Uygar Aydemir, Head of the Department of History at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, presented his presentation titled “History and Culture of Istanbul” to the participants.

Perran Ersu Özçaldıran, Hong Kong Trade Development Council Turkey Representative, delivered her presentation titled “Trade Opportunities Between Turkey and Hong Kong”.

Dr. Lecturer Selami Varol Ülker, Head of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Neuromarketing Department, shared his presentation titled “Neuromarketing: Deciphering Consumer Behavior”.

The event concluded after a group photo session.

Following the event, members of Hong Kong Chu Hai College visited Üsküdar Üniversitesi NP Health Campus and NPİSTANBUL Hospital. The delegation, who conducted tours and inspections, also received information from officials.
