Students' new digital assistant ÜS-AI is now in service!

Üsküdar University has launched ÜS-AI, an AI-powered personal assistant developed in line with its digital transformation vision, for its students' use. Developed by Üsküdar University's Corporate Big Data Coordination Office and integrated into the mobile application, the system provides students with fast, secure, and personalized support in academic and administrative processes, making the university experience more accessible and efficient.

Üsküdar University launched ÜS-AI, an AI-powered digital assistant developed to help students manage their university life more easily and efficiently. Developed by the University's Corporate Big Data Coordination Office and integrated into the mobile application, the system provides students with fast, secure, and personalized support in academic and administrative processes.

Trained entirely with data belonging to Üsküdar University, ÜS-AI understands students' natural language questions, retrieves up-to-date data from relevant university systems, and generates personalized responses. This allows students to access a wide range of information, from course schedules and exam results to campus services and technical support processes, all through a single platform.

Instant access to academic information!

Thanks to ÜS-AI, students can view their weekly course schedules, exam results, grade point averages, advisor information, and course content through a natural chat experience. The system works integrated with the Student Information System (OBS) and Learning Management System (STIX), offering students up-to-date and personalized information.

Students can get instant answers to questions such as 'Do I have classes today?', 'What is my grade point average?', 'Have my final grades been announced?'

Digital convenience in campus life 

ÜS-AI provides support to students not only in academic processes but also in campus life services. A wide range of information, from daily cafeteria menus to library services, library room reservations, and current announcements, can be accessed via the artificial intelligence assistant.
Especially for library study room reservations, the system guides students step-by-step, interactively managing the entire process from availability checks to date and time selection.

Personalized user experience 

ÜS-AI offers advanced user experience features to simplify students' university life. Recognizing the student who logs in via the mobile application, the system addresses the user by name and generates personalized responses based on department, faculty, and registered course information. Operating with full Turkish natural language support, ÜS-AI establishes a friendly yet professional communication with students, understanding and answering questions in everyday conversational language.

The system also stores chat history, allowing students to re-access previous conversations. This enables users to track their past queries and access needed information more quickly. 

For topics outside its scope, ÜS-AI directs students to relevant university units or the Call Center, supporting the process of accessing accurate information. With these features, ÜS-AI stands out not only as an information access tool but also as a comprehensive digital assistant that students can utilize throughout their university life.

Operates with a university-specific knowledge base

ÜS-AI is supported by a comprehensive knowledge base covering the university's information technology and student services processes. Students can access needed information in seconds on many topics, such as WiFi connection, OBS operations, email settings, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, eduroam access, off-campus database usage, and student ID card procedures.

Recognizing students who log in via the mobile application, ÜS-AI provides customized responses based on the student's department, faculty, and courses. Operating entirely in Turkish, the system establishes natural and fluid communication with users while also storing chat history, allowing students to access their previous conversations.

Security and privacy are prioritized

Developed in line with security and privacy principles, ÜS-AI allows each student to access only their own data. All transactions are protected by secure authentication protocols, and students' personal data is safeguarded against unauthorized access.

Developed as an important part of the university's digital transformation vision, the system is considered a significant step towards the effective use of artificial intelligence applications in educational technologies.

In the future, the integration of new university systems, multi-language support, and proactive notification features are also planned to be added to ÜS-AI.
