The “Strong Girls Strong Tomorrows Workshop Project: Digital Media Literacy” workshop was held by Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and ÜSÇÖZÜM (Solution-Oriented Women's Issues Application and Research Center). In the workshop, held with intense participation, digital identity and gender representations were discussed, while students gained awareness by sharing their ideas through group work.

The workshop, held at Üsküdar University South Campus Socrates Hall, was moderated by ÜSÇÖZÜM Director Prof. Dr. Feride Zeynep Güder, and the workshop training was undertaken by Üsküdar University Library and Documentation Specialist Aliye Rabia Sönmez.

Goal: digital identity and gender awareness

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Feride Zeynep Güder, emphasized that digital media literacy is a significant topic both in daily life and for raising awareness.

Group studies conducted

In the workshop led by Aliye Rabia Sönmez, it was emphasized that the main goal was discussion and idea exchange. She asked the groups to reflect on digital identity, visuals used on social media, visual differences between platforms, and gender representations.

She encouraged participants to evaluate why they choose different or similar photos on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram, to share the relationship between digital identity and self-perception, and their digital experiences. By having each group select a spokesperson to lead their discussions transparently, she encouraged active student participation.

Certificates awarded to participants

At the end of the workshop, certificates were presented to the students by Prof. Dr. Feride Zeynep Güder and Aliye Rabia Sönmez. The event concluded after the certificate presentation.
