Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences, Social Work Department 3rd-year student Merve Ceren Kılıç will represent our country at the “Let’s Talk About (anti) Racism” Seminar, which will be held in Bucharest, Romania, between May 30 and June 3, 2022. The seminar will be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Turkish National Agency.
The congratulatory email excited me a lot…
Merve Ceren Kılıç, talking about the application process, said: “I closely follow the activities of the Turkish National Agency, an affiliated institution of the Presidency of the European Union, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, and SALTO Youth, which works in priority areas of Europe in the field of youth. When I saw the 'Let's Talk About (anti)Racism' seminar, which SALTO would organize in my field, with participants to be selected from European countries and Turkey, I wanted to apply. After sending my CV, motivation letter, and other information, I started waiting, and 3 weeks later, I received a congratulatory email stating that I was accepted. I was very excited. Then, we started preparations with the National Agency.”
“Representing Üsküdar University is very valuable to me”
Kılıç, attributing the biggest factor to studying in the social work department, stated: “Even though I am still a student, it is very valuable for me to represent my country and my school, Üsküdar University, among 35 participants who will include professionals working in the fields of migration, mental health, and connecting people with resources. It is very gratifying to see the reflections in practical life of my very valuable professors who have worked diligently since the first day of my university life to help us develop in every field, especially social work, and my dear family who supports me in every way and broadens my horizons.”
The seminar will focus on anti-racism and will last a total of 5 days. Speakers from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, the Romanian National Council, the European Union of Deaf Youth, and the Roma Education Fund Foundation will participate.
We wish success to Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences, Social Work Department 3rd-year student Merve Ceren Kılıç.
