Social role of fatherhood discussed in the program “The Power of Family, In the Footsteps of the Father”

A special Father's Day Program titled “The Power of Family, In the Footsteps of the Father” was organized under the scientific consultancy of Üsküdar University, carried out with the support of the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with Dilovası District Governorship, Dilovası Municipality, and Kocaeli Associations Federation, within the scope of the “Healthy Relationships Strong Marriages” Project. The program highlighted the importance of strengthening the family institution, making the social role of fatherhood visible, and supporting intergenerational value transfer. 

The program, held at Dilovası Cultural Center, was moderated by Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, Director of Üsküdar University Young Brains Academy and Social Contribution Coordinator.

The program was attended by Mahmut Ekşi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İlim ve Fazilet Educational Institutions; İshak Koçoğlu, ITO Council Member; Dr. Metin Kubilay, Dilovası District Governor; Ramazan Ömeroğlu, Mayor of Dilovası; Bahriye Gürpınar Geredeli, Expert Family Counselor; Emine Karadağ, Educator-Writer; Hacer Alioğlu Yakuti, Folk Poet; Musician Ünal Dursun and presenter Hanzele Kılıç.

Attention Drawn to the Social Role of Fatherhood

In the speeches delivered throughout the program, it was emphasized that fatherhood is not merely a responsibility within the family, but also plays a strategic role in building strong societies. Participants addressed the role fathers play in love, trust, responsibility, character development, and value transfer from various perspectives.

The speeches also focused on the importance of family communication in the digital age, the father's influence on children's character development, the balance between work life and family life, and the contribution of strong marriages to strong families.

Social Contribution and Value-Based Approach Highlighted

Beyond being merely a Father's Day celebration, the event was regarded as an important social contribution initiative aimed at protecting the family institution, increasing parental awareness, and strengthening families as the fundamental building blocks of society.
Within the scope of the program, while awareness was created for families and fathers, a strong environment of social interaction and value sharing was provided among the participants. 

Books by Prof. Nevzat Tarhan were Gifted

At the end of the program, participating fathers and families were gifted the works of Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, President of Üsküdar University, in the field of family, communication, and values education.
