First Steps Taken for the 'Social Innovation Model in Education' Project

The first steps of the 'Social Innovation Model in Education' project, carried out in cooperation with Üsküdar Üniversitesi and Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, have been taken. The project, which will be academically advised by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, targeted Innovative Positive Education Leaders and managers. 

Ayşenur Çalıkçı, Provincial Directorate of National Education Branch Manager, coordinated the project, the first training of which was given to R&D specialists. In the 'Positive and Innovative Education Leaders' social innovation model, it was aimed for education leaders to produce sustainable projects with an innovative perspective on societal problems and in the light of positive psychology.

Stages to be Managed During the Project Process Were Practically Demonstrated 

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Young Brains Academy Director Dr. Lecturer Nebiye Yaşar gave Applied Project Cycle Management training to the R&D specialists working within the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.  Dr. Lecturer Nebiye Yaşar explained how a project is planned, managed, controlled, and finalized, practically demonstrating all stages to be managed in this process to the specialists. Additionally, with the practical examples included in the training, the methods to be used by participants to succeed when facing different project problems were explained.

Attention Drawn to the Importance of the Social Innovation Model in Education

Murat Altınöz, Deputy Provincial Director of National Education for Istanbul, gave a speech emphasizing the importance of project cycle management to the participants. In his speech, Altınöz stated how valuable projects are in every field, and drew attention to the importance of the social innovation model in education. The R&D specialists who participated in the training took steps for extremely valuable projects with their teammates.

Today, alongside technological developments that directly impact knowledge and economy, innovation in education is an extremely important matter for the development and change of societies. For societies and individuals not forced to adapt to growth and change, social innovation maintains its importance today as a natural part of life. Rapidly developing technologies and changes in family, social, and work life primarily and significantly affect students, making innovation in education necessary and mandatory to attract their interest and ensure their motivation.

The Turkish Education System's education policies continue to encourage innovation. It is also a fact that there is a great need for innovative education leaders with a positive outlook for this. Turkey's way to produce knowledge, defined as social innovation through converting knowledge into economic and social benefit, will be realized by investing in human resources. Therefore, the 'Social Innovation Model in Education' project holds great importance today for a sustainable future.
