SHMYO Academic Board Meeting Held

The 2022-2023 Academic Year Fall Semester Academic Board Meeting of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Health Services Vocational School (SHMYO) was held. The meeting saw the full participation of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, Director of Health Services Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan, Assistant Directors Lecturer Dr. Salih Tuncay and Lecturer Dr. Ömer Faruk Karasakal, SHMYO Secretary Makbule Dede, as well as academic and administrative staff within SHMYO.

By SHMYO Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan, the self-evaluation of the previous spring semester and the preparations for the current fall semester were presented at the Academic Board Meeting. The presentation included data from scientific research such as project, publication, and book studies, and also discussed the processes related to plans to increase these activities.

SHMYO's double major program (DMP) lists, the expanded scope of the DMP program specific to each program, the number of students placed in DMPs, and the current student numbers in SHMYO programs were evaluated by comparing them to previous years. Information was provided on SHMYO's event lists and plans, which enable students to meet with individuals in the health sector as well as engage with various scientific topics.

At the meeting, attended by academic and administrative staff, the current status of SHMYO was thoroughly evaluated by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, and Director of Health Services Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mesut Karahan.

Improvements in digitalization highlighted…

In the section for thanks and wishes, Karahan stated: “Innovative approaches such as the renovation of laboratories, the inclusion of SHMYO associate degree students' TÜBİTAK projects in academic studies, and the support of education and training during the pandemic with fi-gital education models as well as in-house videos, have been implemented during our directorship.” He drew attention to the improvement activities carried out in the digital field with these statements.

During the meeting, which included administrative and academic staff, ideas were exchanged about SHMYO's strengths, weaknesses, and future plans.

The program concluded with academic staff expressing their wishes and aspirations.
