Shattered Dreams Exhibition Bearing the Traces of the Earthquake Opened

A meaningful exhibition was opened within the scope of the graduation projects of 4th-year students of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, Public Relations and Publicity Department. A social responsibility project themed "Don't Let Earthquakes Disrupt Education" was developed to provide educational and solidarity support to high school and university exam-preparing students in Malatya, Akçadağ Ören District, whose homes and schools were destroyed in the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake. Within the scope of the project, led by Dr. Lecturer Nejla Polat, 4th-year students opened the "Shattered Dreams" exhibition with the designs they prepared. Additionally, within the project's scope, Üsküdar communicators provided earthquake-affected students with exam preparation books, stationery materials, and video training set support. 

Hilal Sarıal, Çağla Işık, Gözde Çalışkan, Oğuz Kerem Maraz, Bengisu Kâhya, Kayra Alan, 4th-year students of the Public Relations and Publicity (PRP) Department, developed a social responsibility project themed "Don't Let Earthquakes Disrupt Education" under the leadership of their advisor Dr. Lecturer Nejla Polat.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition, held in the Foyer area of Üsküdar Üniversitesi South Campus, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, and academicians from the faculty.

Various activities were implemented within the project carried out as part of the social responsibility project.

Students from the Public Relations and Publicity department, who carried out many activities within the social responsibility project, purchased stationery materials and delivered them to the teachers at Ören Primary School by Dr. Lecturer Nejla Polat and Adnan Yokuş. Later, high school exam preparation and university exam preparation books, acquired and sent by a group of volunteer teachers in Hatay led by Teacher Eylem Gümüş and Suparo Yayınları, were distributed to students in Malatya Akçadağ. 

Murat Yavan, a student from Üsküdar Üniversitesi Radio, Television and Cinema Department and also working at Sınav Dershanesi, sent exam-oriented test books from Sınav Dershanesi publications. A projector device and screen, acquired by Tolga Sert, Mine Esiner Özen, Dr. Lecturer İnci Çağlayan, Dr. Lecturer Nejla Polat, and Vedat Karaman, were also sent to the earthquake victims. In addition, a YGS and LYS Video Preparation training set was sent by a group of volunteer teachers in Hatay, led by Teacher Eylem Gümüş.

Supplementary education for exams will be provided.

Within the scope of the project, through Ören Primary School Principal Teacher Behzat and School Psychological Counselor Teacher Eren, supplementary education for YGS and LGS preparing students in the tent classrooms will be provided with the sent projector device, screen, and educational video sets.
On May 12, 2023, the PRP Graduation project, which included writings by students in the earthquake region on their "dreams before, during, and after the earthquake," sent by Teacher Eren, was also unveiled. Panels created with photographs from the earthquake region, created by Hilal Sarıal, Gözde Çalışkan, Bengisu Kahya, Oğuz Kerem Maraz, Çağla Işık, Kayra Alan, and their advisor Dr. Lecturer Nejla Polat, were presented to the participants at the exhibition held in the South Campus C – D Block Lobby. 
Furthermore, on the same day, within the scope of the project, it is also aimed to provide moral and psychological support to students in the earthquake region with colorful letters written and sent by Üsküdar Üniversitesi academicians and staff under the slogan "Be with us with a letter too.
