Members of Risale-i Nur Enstitüsü and Şekercihan Derneği attended the seminar held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Çarşı Campus Emir Nebi Conference Hall.

Events in Syria Discussed

Speaking at the seminar, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldız, a faculty member of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf Üniversitesi, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and International Relations (English), addressed the events and fundamental problems in Syria. Yıldız also spoke about how the words of Hutbe-i Şamiye could be brought into the present day.

Processes in New State Building…

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldız made important evaluations regarding the processes of building a new state.

“All Muslim Communities Have Aspirations”

Highlighting the colonization of the Muslim world, Yıldız stated that colonization occurred because there were aspirations. Yıldız said: “Turks, Arabs, Albanians, almost all Muslim communities have aspirations, but our Muslim world has been completely colonized by the British and French. We are looking for answers to questions such as ‘Why are we in this state? How can we overcome this?’”

“The Distance Between Lie and Truth Should Be Widened”

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldız, stating that truth should have a distinguishing feature, said: “Let's distinguish truth from lies. We must distinguish. Let's call truth, truth, and lies, lies. Lying has become commonplace. People's sensitivity to it has decreased. They don't see it as a problem. This is actually a very big problem. The distance between lie and truth should be widened.”

The seminar concluded after a question and answer session.
