The second “Study Tour” event was held in collaboration with Üsküdar University and Hong Kong Chu Hai College. The international academic gathering, first held in 2024, continued this year with high participation and rich content. Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör and academics attended the event. Within this scope, presentations were made, and strategies for structuring global collaborations were discussed.


The event, held in the Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall at the Central Campus, was attended by Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Head of the Political Science and International Relations (English) Department at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Deputy Director of the Strategic Research Application and Research Center (ÜSSAM) Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Arslan, Dr. Lecturer Cihan Taştan from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (Turkish) at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Director of the International Relations Office Assoc. Dr. Haşmet Gökırmak, and Dr. Murat Sevencan.
Two professors, two researchers, and 25 students from Hong Kong Chu Hai College participated in the event.
Prof. Dr. Güngör emphasized the importance of strong academic collaboration
In her speech, Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör highlighted the university's vision of internationalization while drawing attention to the importance of strong academic cooperation between the two institutions.
Subsequently, Dr. Oleksandr Pidchosa and Dr. Justina Yung from Hong Kong Chu Hai College delivered speeches.
Prof. Thomas M.H. Chan, who joined the event via Zoom, also made significant contributions on academic vision and collaboration.

Presentations were made as part of the event. In this context;
-Dr. Murat Sevencan presented “Turkish Foreign Policy in a Multipolar World Order”,
-Assoc. Dr. İbrahim Arslan presented “US Indo-Pacific Strategy”,
-Dr. Lecturer Cihan Taştan presented “R&D Studies at Üsküdar University”.
Following these presentations, participants had the opportunity to interact one-on-one with academics through an interactive Q&A session.

Subsequently, the research session was attended by Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Dr. Murat Sevencan, Assoc. Dr. Haşmet Gökırmak, Dr. Oleksandr Pidchosa, and Dr. Justina Yung.
A session titled "Mapping BRI Stakeholder Perceptions: The Case of Turkey," was held as an example of a joint project between the Ng Teng Fong · Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute, Hong Kong Chu Hai College, and Üsküdar University Strategic Studies Research and Application Center, on "How to Successfully Establish International Cooperation."
