Researchers from Üsküdar University continue to contribute to international scientific studies. Üsküdar researchers, who previously contributed to the book titled 'Stress Related Disorders,' are now making significant contributions to the book titled 'Schizophrenia - Recent Advances and Patient-Centered Treatment Perspectives.' In the study introduced to the literature by IntechOpen Publications, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan and his accompanying researchers examine personalized treatment approaches to schizophrenia from various perspectives, adopting a neurobiological viewpoint.
At the invitation of IntechOpen Publishing, Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, and his research team this time contributed with the chapter titled 'Neurobiological Perspective and Personalized Treatment in Schizophrenia' to the 7-chapter book named 'Schizophrenia - Recent Advances and Patient-Centered Treatment Perspectives'.
The book, indexed in Web of Science Book Citation Index, titled 'Schizophrenia - Recent Advances and Patient-Centered Treatment Perspectives,' aims to understand schizophrenia through its symptoms.
A journey to understanding schizophrenia through its symptoms…
The book, edited by Dr. Jane Yip (Newcastle University), known for her pioneering work in the fields of Depression, Autism, and Schizophrenia, brings together the latest exciting findings for a new generation of researchers, clinicians, and professionals. In its journey to understand schizophrenia through its symptoms, the 7-chapter book covers diagnosis, epidemiology, mechanisms of action, brain imaging, psychopharmacology, psycho-behavioral intervention, social inclusion, community care, social action, diversity and inclusivity, and new therapeutics.
Significant contribution to literature from Üsküdar academics…
To the book chapter, which Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan contributed with his work titled 'Personalized Medicine of Schizophrenia,' Prof. Dr. Nesrin Dilbaz contributes with 'Comorbide Schizophrenia in Addiction,' Prof. Dr. Güner Ulak with 'Psycopharmacology of Schizophrenia,' Dr. Yeşim Özdemir with 'The Genetic and Epigenetics of Schizophrenia,' Dr. Firdevs Seyfe Şen and Yelda İbadi with 'Multimodal Neuroimaging in Schizophrenia,' and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Türker Ergüzel with his research titled 'In Silico Applications in Schizophrenia & Future Perspectives'.
Offering personalized treatment in schizophrenia diagnosis and treatment…
The study, which examines personalized treatment approaches to schizophrenia from various angles, adopting a neurobiological perspective, offers personalized treatment in schizophrenia diagnosis and treatment, and, in addition to medication use, also addresses psychopharmacology and the mechanism of action of antipsychotics. The work, which includes detailed genetic and epigenetic studies, current computational methods such as deep learning for schizophrenia-specific biomarker extraction processes, and in silico applications and computational approaches covering the disruptive impact of the metaverse, meets readers.
To the study presented to the scientific community by IntechOpen Publishing, Tarhan and his accompanying researchers had previously contributed to the 11-chapter book titled 'Stress Related Disorders' with the chapter titled 'New Diagnosis and Treatment Approaches to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder'.
The work had been downloaded by nearly 1000 people within 2 months.
