Üsküdar University’s Design Club, operating under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS), organized the event “Republic and Youth Festival in the New Century” as part of the October 29 Republic Day celebrations. The 102nd anniversary of the Republic was marked with great enthusiasm, filling the campus with color, music, and cheerful moments. At the same time, the History Club held a “Republic Day Press and Archive Exhibition” in honor of the 102nd year, bringing together students with historical reflections of the Republic’s early days.

The festival took place in the courtyard of Üsküdar University’s Çarşı Campus, while the exhibition was held at the South Campus garden. Both events drew strong participation from students as well as academic and administrative staff. The day was filled with music, dance, and a vibrant atmosphere created by student clubs’ activities.

Concert excitement filled the campus

The festival began with live performances by Medine Sultan and Kaan Selen, followed by an energetic concert from Berk Bendis. Üsküdar students filled the campus, singing along together and sharing the contagious excitement of Republic Day celebrations.

Colorful showcases from student clubs

From the Anesthesia Club to the Design Club, many student organizations set up stands to present their projects and introduce their activities. Students had the chance to meet club members, learn about their work, and enjoy fun mini-activities throughout the day.
The clubs not only connected with new members but also reflected the dynamic spirit of campus life through engaging and entertaining events.

Republic Day Press and Archive Exhibition

In addition to the festival, the History Club organized a special Press and Archive Exhibition as part of the 102nd anniversary events. Staying true to its mission of shedding light on historical sources that document the past, the exhibition aimed to revive the spirit of 1923 through headlines, news articles, and visuals from newspapers published during the founding period of the Republic.

The exhibition also sought to emphasize the historical role of the press, its function as the voice of national will, and the enduring place of the Republic in the nation’s collective memory.
