Üsküdar University and the Istanbul Governorship held an important meeting regarding the projects “REHAKOR”, “AİLEKOR”, and several ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing community well-being and strengthening social solidarity. The meeting, hosted by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, was attended by Üsküdar University academics under the leadership of Prof. Nevzat Tarhan. The discussions highlighted the importance of implementing these projects as sustainable and participatory social innovation models designed to strengthen family structures, support public health, and improve individuals’ quality of life.

The meeting, hosted by Governor Davut Gül and attended by Istanbul Deputy Governor Serap Çetin Özmen, brought together Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, President of Üsküdar University and Psychiatrist; Prof. Hikmet Koçak, Vice Rector; Prof. Mevlüt Sait Keleş, Head of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine; Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, Coordinator of Social Contribution; and Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Projects aimed at creating lasting ımpact
Governor Davut Gül emphasized that collaborations should result in projects with lasting impacts that touch various segments of society.
President of Üsküdar University and Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan stated that as a university, they will continue to develop social innovation projects with public institutions that bridge scientific knowledge with real-world needs.

Innovative project models discussed
During the meeting, participants exchanged ideas on innovative project models that could serve as examples in the field of social contribution.
The importance of developing solution-oriented, sustainable, and participatory models addressing Istanbul’s social needs was also underlined.

In this context, the projects “REHAKOR” and “AİLEKOR”, which aim to enhance community welfare and strengthen social solidarity, were discussed. These projects were noted for their goals of reinforcing family structures, supporting public health, and improving individuals’ quality of life.
