Following her appointment, Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Üsküdar University's first female Rector, made her first official international contacts in Azerbaijan. During her 4-day intensive trip to Azerbaijan, Güngör contacted numerous official institutions and organizations and held cooperation talks.

Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör and Üsküdar University International Registration and Communications Manager Dilbar Aliyeva visited the Azerbaijan Press Council within the scope of the trip. President Majid, who met with Council President Rashad Majid, provided detailed information about the institution's activities to Güngör. Majid stated that the Council's primary duty is to investigate and decide on media-related complaints from community members, and noted that the Cabinet of Ministers always prioritizes international relations. Majid underlined that contacts established with brotherly Turkish media and journalistic organizations also hold great importance in these relations.

Güngör spoke about the work carried out by the university in this field. She also emphasized that efforts could be made to implement joint projects with the Press Council.

Güngör then signed a cooperation protocol with Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. The protocol covers joint work in master's and doctoral programs between the two universities.

Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör also met with Azerbaijan State Medical University Rector Prof. Dr. Geray Geraybeyli and his team within the scope of the trip. Güngör shared information regarding Üsküdar University's activities and international student profile, stating, “More than 5,000 of our nearly 24,000 students are international students from many countries around the world. 200 of these students are from Azerbaijan. Üsküdar University is Türkiye's first and only thematic university in the fields of behavioral sciences and health. We aim to open our university's Azerbaijan office soon.”

Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör also participated in the Azerbaijan Press Council within the scope of her visits and contacts in Azerbaijan. Rashad Majid provided information about the council to Güngör and her accompanying delegation.
