Social Services program graduate Gamze Önder, who sets an example for those around her with her determination and manages to maintain a positive outlook on life despite the difficulties she faces, received her diploma from Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan.
Üsküdar University Social Services program graduate Gamze Önder visited Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan to receive her diploma. Gamze Önder stated that when she won the university exam in 2020, she was hesitant due to the possibility of her family experiencing transportation difficulties because of her disability. She shared with Tarhan the happiness of successfully completing the Üsküdar University Social Services program.
'I try to maintain a positive outlook'
Önder, who continues to look at life positively despite the difficulties she faces and sets an example for those around her with her determination, said; 'I look at life positively. Even if I experience some impossibilities, I try to maintain a positive outlook. For example, there is no elevator in our house, so I cannot reach home without my family's help, yet studying at university was my biggest dream. After reading Nevzat Hoca's books and starting to follow him on social media, I was very impressed by his outlook on life and decided to study at Üsküdar University. My first choice was the Social Services program, and I really want to work in this field.'
'I am writing my life story'
Önder, who stated that she is very fond of books, said she is writing her life story. Önder said; 'I am very keen on books, I love reading books. In fact, I am currently writing a book, putting my life into words. I believe I can be an example to people with my life.'
Prof. Dr. Tarhan asked questions about Önder’s illness
Tarhan, who showed keen interest in the new Üsküdar graduate Gamze Önder, conversed with Önder about his latest book, 'Ezber Bozan Hayat' (Life That Breaks the Mold). Gamze Önder stated that she had read the book and liked it very much, adding that she had been waiting for this book for a long time.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan presented Önder with his autographed books.
