Goodness has a depression and anxiety-reducing effect!

In the magazine, which features "The Science of Goodness" on its cover and addresses goodness from many perspectives, the article titled "Goodness that benefits the body, soul, and world" by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan also meets the readers.

In the article, Tarhan underlined that goodness not only makes the other person happy but also makes the individual happy, noting that goodness has a depression and anxiety-reducing effect. Tarhan stated; "In fact, it has been observed that doing good benefits people. How does it benefit? Goodness makes not only the other person happy but also the individual themselves. It has an effect of reducing depression and anxiety. When a person does good, their self-esteem also increases. Research shows that when a person helps someone else, a happiness hormone, triggered by empathy, is released in the brain."

We are destroying nature and the environment with our own hands

In the latest issue of PsikoHayat magazine, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir emphasized the importance of the topic "The Harms We Inflict on the Environment"; "We are obliged to find ways to use the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the soil we walk on and which is the basis of our food, without poisoning or polluting them. Our environment, which surrounds and embraces us with its air, water, and soil, is deteriorating every day. So much has changed in the last ten years. Not only is the Sea of Marmara on its deathbed; fish can no longer live in our Ergene, Gediz, Sakarya, and many other rivers due to factory waste. The quality of water, air, and soil is also constantly deteriorating. We are slaughtering nature and the environment with our own hands."
