Prof. Tayfun Uzbay Receives 'City Award' from His Hometown Ordu

Üsküdar University Rector's Advisor and Head of the Internal Medical Sciences Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tayfun Uzbay, was honored with an award at the "10th Anniversary Launch and City Awards" night organized by the Güzel Ordu Culture and Arts Foundation (GOKSV). At the event, which celebrated individuals contributing to Ordu's cultural heritage and memory, Uzbay was recognized for his scientific achievements and for proudly representing Ordu's name.

The Güzel Ordu Culture and Arts Foundation, established ten years ago with the vision of highlighting Ordu's aesthetic values and transforming the city into an art center, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a magnificent ceremony held at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Altınordu.

At the night held under the slogan "Legacy of Ten Years, Inspiration for the Future," awards were presented to individuals who have added value to the city's science, art, and civil society life.

Prof. Tayfun Uzbay: “It is very valuable to be part of the memory of the city where I was born”

Prof. Tayfun Uzbay, who received his award from his colleague Pharmacist Specialist Ömer Çoruh, expressed his pride. 

Uzbay stated; “It is very valuable for a person to be part of the memory of the city where they were born and raised, received their basic education, family and neighborhood upbringing, and to be appreciated there. I was proud of the importance my home province gives to science, art, and community life. I am glad I was born in these lands, my personality was shaped here.”

Prof. Uzbay also extended his thanks to Foundation President Prof. Çağatay Öztürk and the board members who deemed him worthy of this award, as well as to those who contributed to the organization.

The ceremony concluded with the sharing of Ordu's future vision and the highlighting of projects that strengthen the city's artistic identity.
