Physicians who have left 50 years behind in their professional careers were awarded by the Istanbul Medical Chamber within the scope of March 14 Medicine Day. President of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, also took his place among the physicians who received awards on this special day. Tarhan is appreciated for his work in both clinical and academic fields.

Adopting the basic principle of protective mental health with a focus on the benefit of the society, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan left behind half a century in his profession.


In this context, with the participation of the leading names of the health community, a service plaque award ceremony was held at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall for those who completed their 50th year.

Tarhan, who has been a great source of inspiration not only as a clinician but also with his academic studies for the past 50 years, was presented with his plaque by Recep Koç, Chairman of the Family Medicine Commission of the Istanbul Medical Chamber.


Tarhan is appreciated on a global scale for his pioneering studies in the field of psychiatry, the books he has written, and his academic studies at Üsküdar Üniversitesi.

Tarhan also received an award in his 40th year…
In 2015, Tarhan was also among those awarded with a plaque at the ceremony where physicians who left their 40th year behind were honored.
The ceremony was held in the Auditorium of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.
