Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, received the first dose of the CoronaVac vaccine on January 14, 2021, and the second dose on February 11, 2021, following “Emergency Use Authorization.” 5 weeks later, the result of the antibody test performed on Tarhan was well above the reference range. This indicates that the inactivated vaccine is effective.
In recent days, different information regarding the efficacy of vaccines, which has been a subject of debate, continues to occupy the public agenda. Inactivated vaccines have been used for prevention and treatment of many different diseases to date.
Prof. Dr. Tarhan’s antibody is well above the reference range!
After receiving the second dose of the CoronaVac vaccine, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan’s Anti SARS COV-2 S Total Quantitative Antibody test result was found to be well above the reference range in the Medical Laboratory Test Result Report prepared by NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital.
Prof. Dr. Tarhan underwent an ELISA (Blood) test
While the normal reference range was stated as 0.0 – 0.80, Tarhan’s antibody result was 22.47. Whereas “Strip” (şerit) tests used for antibody detection in the market do not provide sufficient sensitivity, a more advanced ELISA (Blood) test method was applied to Tarhan by NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital.
The result showed the success of the China-originated CoronaVac vaccine, administered by the Ministry of Health, in the fight against COVID-19.
