Prof. Dr. Tarhan: “Human creation cannot be explained by winds of chance”

Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, made striking statements about the existence of Allah and the belief in Tawhid during the “Psychology Talks from Existence to the Search for Meaning” program. Emphasizing the perfection in human creation, Tarhan stated that the stage of human arrival into the world cannot be explained by winds of chance or chemical formations, but rather as the product of a perfect designer. 

“The existence of a universe independent of time and space has been proven”

Tarhan stated that inquiries into the existence of the universe have gained clarity through the work of physicists, conveying that ‘Quantum Entanglement’ has proven the universe's aspect of being independent of time and space. Tarhan said; “When analyzing human psychology, it was previously known that humans were only a bio-psychosocial model. However, recent developments in quantum dynamics have proven the existence of a reality faster than light, meaning independent of time and space. There is a universe not made of matter, and Quantum Entanglement has proven this. From one end of the Milky Way galaxy to the other takes approximately 105,000 light-years, and simultaneously, electrons or photons spin up and down, talking to each other. One photon moves simultaneously with another photon 105,000 light-years away. This shows that there is a universe independent of time and space, a trans-material universe. According to the quantum universe, we simultaneously exist and do not exist. What we call time, the past, simultaneously exists and does not exist; the future simultaneously exists and does not exist. This is no longer just a theory. Physicists are working on human existence in the face of an incredible reality. For example, we are focusing on how genes work. At one end, there is the micro-cosmos, atoms; at the other end, there is the macro-cosmos, space. There is a tremendous universe from the micro-cosmos to the macro-cosmos. Beyond the macro-cosmos, there is also another reality, independent of matter and time, transcendent of time and space, as described in the Holy Quran. This reality has been proven. This is a sign of the existence of an amazing design.”

“The belief in Tawhid explains the perfect design in the universe”

Tarhan stated that the universe is the design of a great intellect, conveying that this creator is one and unique, pointing to the belief in Tawhid. Tarhan said; “From the movement of subatomic particles in the universe to the sequencing in DNA, all are products of design. So, science is interested in what kind of design this is. Tawhid explains this. Why is there such a universe? What kind of power, intelligence, will would point to a single God? Our conception of God must be correctly established. We need to find the most reasonable path. As you know, Tawhid literally means unification, giving everything to the one Allah. That is, there is a single creator. It is necessary to attribute it to a creator with absolute will, absolute knowledge, absolute power, and absolute wisdom. What does absolute mean here? Limitless; for example, everything else, such as human power, is limited. What kind of Tawhid belief should there be? Some people question, ‘If God exists, why did He create these evils?’ They argue that if He created this, then if He doesn’t have the power to make everything good, He is not God; or if He did this knowingly, why did He create such evils, then again, He is not God. The belief in Tawhid answers all these questions with the dialectic of trial. We experienced an earthquake, there are various diseases, storms, and calamities. In such situations, the belief in Tawhid can greatly comfort a person. The belief in Tawhid is also very important for worldly happiness.”

“Human creation is not something that happens by winds of chance”

Tarhan drew attention to the perfection in human creation, stating that the stage of human arrival into the world cannot be explained by winds of chance or chemical formations. Tarhan said; “Those involved in genetics can say that DNA comes into being by itself. However, for example, the Holy Quran first says 'Read'. What is the second verse after saying 'Read'? Surah Alak, this Surah describes the embryo. A piece of flesh becomes a human being after 9 months and 10 days. Now, sperm and egg combine in the womb. The homozygous becomes a zygote there. Then they divide, the mother's DNA mixes with the father's DNA, and sometimes it is not the mother's and father's DNA. They come face to face, and DNA passes from both inner sides. There is a knot in the middle, the centromere, chromatin threads are formed. In this way, genetics go back, and these always divide by making the right decisions. Sometimes it becomes a nerve cell, sometimes a heart cell, sometimes an eye cell, it constantly divides. But it always divides by making the right decisions. At the end of 9 months, it suddenly emerges from an environment it did not live in, never saw, or knew, into an environment where eyes are used, ears are used, brains are used. In the womb, it is not affected by any evil, it is a safe environment. It is a very comfortable environment; there is no need for eyes, ears, arms, or legs there. If random existence is possible as evolutionists who advocate for it claim, how can cells always divide by making the right decisions, and after 9 months and 10 days, a baby is born? This can only happen with something programmed. It is not something that happens by winds of chance or chemical crises. Therefore, you find the method of reasoning in Allah. You don't see with your eyes, you don't see with closed eyes, but you see Allah with the eye of reason; this can only be explained by the belief in Tawhid. If there were two captains on a ship, a fight would break out. So, you say, Allah created this DNA, you say, only one creator did this. You say there must be a power that knows everything, controls everything, and that's how the conception of God should be made.” 

“DNA shows that everything in the universe originates from a single source”

Tarhan pointed out that scientific developments are leading scientists towards the belief in Tawhid and the religion of Islam, expressing that the Western world, in particular, will approach Allah through science. Tarhan said; “What we call the quantum realm of existence passes through its ultimate point. In the Holy Quran, this is called 'sidre-i münteha', meaning the ultimate limit. Here, the realm of existence ends, and these black holes most likely indicate them. There, independent of time and space, even while we are currently within matter, we have subatomic particles working independently of time and space. Concepts expressing seal, coin, patent, stamp, and tugra are frequently used in the Quran. For example, you buy an item and learn where it was produced and who owns it through QR codes. Similarly, DNA shows that everything in the universe originates from a single source. They attribute the emergence of the first living creature from the sea, having feet, and the limbs of all creatures from lizards to crocodiles being like a continuation of each other, to the universe. In fact, this is proof that the creator is one, not the universe. 50-60% of a seaweed's DNA resembles human DNA. They say chimpanzee DNA is 94% identical to human DNA. This means that the master of these living beings is the same, they all originate from a single source. There are many scientists who have accepted Tawhid but have not accepted Islam. Today, access to information is easier thanks to the internet, so the truth will spread rapidly all of a sudden. For example, a week ago the leaves were dry, now they are suddenly green. Similarly, I predict that people will find the truth, especially in the Western world. As a result of the tendency to seek truth, they will find Islam by saying, 'This is the truth.' In 2022, what was scientifically accepted as current physics, Einstein's physics, ended. The concept of time was considered relative, and there was an understanding that if the speed of light ended, the world would end. Now, there is a world beyond the speed of light. This will bring physicists and biologists closer to Allah. The Western world seems likely to find the truth through science.” 

“If you are looking for proof of Allah’s existence, proof is everywhere”

Tarhan stated that there is proof everywhere for those seeking evidence of Allah's existence, and what is important is to be able to see these proofs. Tarhan said; “We need to see Allah’s hand of power in everything; if you don't look with that eye, you cannot see. The perspective is very important here; you will look with the eye of reason, but people try to see Allah only with the physical eye. Yusuf Islam's story of converting to Islam is also interesting. While surfing in the Pacific Ocean, he was caught under a wave, and just as he was about to die, he said: “Oh God, if you exist, I will be saved, then I will seek and find you.” And he was saved. He must have been sincere, because he later became a Muslim. He even says; “If I had known Muslims first, I wouldn't have become a Muslim.” He became a Muslim because he found the Holy Quran first. Because Muslims are a bad example, we are causing this era to be like this and preventing people from becoming Muslims by being a bad example. We become like this because we glorify politics too much and glorify materialism too much. We are causing Islamophobia to take root. Therefore, we cannot save ourselves by stoning the enemy and slandering Westerners. This is the greatest weakness of Eastern societies. We currently say the West is the enemy, it is bad, we blame the problem on them and deceive ourselves. The West also has two faces. The first is the West that seeks truth and is engaged in science. The other is the ideological, political West. If we address the first, the truth-seeking West, they will find the truth there. But our accusatory, judgmental attitudes; in psychology, this is called the ‘Projection Defense Mechanism’. This method temporarily relieves the person, but it is present in paranoid individuals, those with inflated egos, and those who do not question themselves.”
