Prof. Dr. Sırrı Akbaba Gives 'Values Education' Seminar

Üsküdar University Rector's Advisor and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Psychology Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Sırrı Akbaba gave a seminar titled 'Values Education' within the scope of the Family School Training organized by the Şile District National Education Directorate. Akbaba met with branch managers, school principals, teachers, and parents at the seminar. 

The training held at the Şile District Governor's Office Conference Hall attracted intense interest from participants. 

The event was held within the scope of the Family Year

At the event held within the scope of declaring 2025 as the “Family Year”, Prof. Dr. Sırrı Akbaba, who gave a seminar under the title “Values Education”, addressed the concepts of affection, love, compassion, tenderness, and passion. 

Akbaba drew attention to the place of love within the family with his words: “Perhaps the most important function of the family institution is to create a world of love-focused relationships.”
In the seminar, Akbaba, who also presented examples from Turkish-Islamic thinkers, referred to Yunus Emre’s lines “Let us love and be loved, the world remains for no one” and Yusuf Has Hacip’s work Kutadgu Bilig. 

Five characteristics of the superior human were highlighted

Akbaba stated that when Yusuf Has Hacip defined the superior human, he emphasized five characteristics such as sacrifice, nobility, wisdom, intelligence, and courage.

Flowers were presented 

Şile District National Education Director Dursun Teyran, who attended the program, presented flowers to Prof. Dr. Akbaba after the seminar for his contributions.

The Importance of Age-Appropriate Communication…

Akbaba, on the other hand, also met with members of the education community within the scope of the “Family School” program organized by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.

Prof. Dr. Sırrı Akbaba shared insights on the topic of “Age-Appropriate Communication.”
