Within the scope of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine interviews, the event “Human Factory Settings with Sinan Canan” was held. In the program moderated by Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, Dean of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan stated, “Understanding humans is the first step to treating them.”
“There is no cure for any chronic disease in today's medical practices”
Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan, a faculty member of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Head of the Neuromarketing Department, who stated, “Understanding humans is the first stage of treatment,” said: “When humans are not understood correctly, the right approach cannot be taken in diseases or their treatments. There is no need to graduate from medical school; anyone who lives a normal life, experiences any health problem, and has sought medical treatment will generally realize that we have a drug-based medical practice system. There is a fact that shocks medical students in this regard. In today's medical practices, there is no cure for any chronic disease. Of course, when we say 'no cure,' there are very effective methods, but what we call healing or treatment is different from this; it is the ability to eliminate the disease element.”
“We are the only living species forced to live in an environment we have changed”
Continuing his words, Canan touched upon human biology and its past; “Today, as humans, we are the only living beings forced to live in an environment we have changed ourselves, and we have a policy in this transformation process. We do not consider whether what we do is necessary because we can do it. Humans used to have to be content with what nature offered and live in balance. Now, because they can do everything, they have become a strange creature lost in abundance, unable to choose what to eat or where to go. But its biology is the same as its ancestor from 200,000 years ago.” He used these expressions.
“Human Factory Settings covers all problems”
Canan, speaking about his book titled İFA (Human Factory Settings); “Almost all of the problems we experience in modern life today stem from the incompatibilities humans face when forced to live within the civilization they built, with their original, biological, and natural settings. For these reasons, my book is titled ‘Human Factory Settings’. Human Factory Settings consists of five items, and these five items cover all problems.” He said.
“A theory that cannot be refuted grows stronger”
Canan emphasized that all successful scientific theories are based on very long-term refutations; “We have been trying to refute Einstein's physics for 100 years. Even if quantum physics is refuted, Einstein dominates in the macro world. Scientific theories have a characteristic. You try to overturn theories, but if you cannot, the theories grow stronger. If you find evidence against theories, a new theory emerges.” He said.
