Prof. Dr. Sevda Asqarova Appointed to an Important Duty!

Prof. Dr. Sevda Asqarova, Head of the Ergotherapy Department at Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences and Director of the Music Therapy Application and Research Center (MÜTEM), has been appointed to an important position within the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices (GETAT) Commissions by the Ministry of Health's Music Therapy Application Advisory Commission. With her membership in the “Music Therapy Application” Commission, Asqarova will contribute to the more widespread and systematic use of music therapy in health services. 

Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices aim to evaluate supportive treatment methods within a scientific framework alongside modern medicine and integrate them into the healthcare system.

The “Music Therapy Application” Commission, established within this scope, undertakes important responsibilities such as determining standards, defining the competencies of practitioners, and encouraging scientific studies for the more effective and reliable use of music therapy methods.

Music Therapy Addressed at Both Clinical and Societal Levels

Asqarova, who has contributed to the effective use of music therapy in both clinical and societal dimensions through projects carried out within MÜTEM, is expected to further contribute to the more widespread and systematic use of music therapy in health services through her work in the commission.

This appointment is also considered an important development in terms of addressing music therapy within a scientific framework and integrating it into health policies in Turkey.
