Anadolu Intellectuals Hearth President and Üsküdar University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. İbrahim Öztek stated that the oppression and genocide in Karabakh is a bleeding wound for every Turk, be it in Azerbaijan or Turkey.
Dr. İbrahim Öztek stated in his remarks, “The oppression and genocide in Karabakh is a bleeding wound for every Turk, be it in Azerbaijan or Turkey. While all of the West, from Europe to America, supports Armenian betrayals and treacheries, why do other Turkic states remain indifferent to this oppression and the occupation of Azerbaijani Turkic lands? Let alone remaining indifferent, flying Armenian flags in large squares in Kazakhstan recently was absolutely unbecoming.
For several years, international organizations have remained silent about actions that periodically break the ceasefire, challenge Azerbaijan's borders, and escalate from harassment fire to military aggression. It is as if their treacherous ambitions are supported by the European Court of Human Rights, the United Nations, and similar organizations. Undoubtedly, these actions are not simple border violations. Behind these treacherous ambitions are goals such as diverting attention away from Karabakh, dismantling Azerbaijan's oil and gas gateways to Turkey and Europe, especially TANAP, preventing the blood brotherhood, military, political, cultural, economic, and social unity of Turkey and Azerbaijan, and plunging the highly strategic Tavus region for Azerbaijan into a second Karabakh deadlock. The Russian bases in Armenia are their greatest assurance and form the basis of their arrogant, over-the-top aggressive behavior,” he said.
Öztek noted that Russia and Azerbaijan are rivals for Europe's oil and gas. He added, “The increasingly growing and strengthening unity of Turkey and Azerbaijan makes Russia and its weak partner Armenia uneasy. The greatest apprehension is the fear that Turkic-speaking states are gradually transforming into a Union of Turkic States. In 20-25 years, there will be a Turkey and Azerbaijan of 150 million against a Russia of 100 million, and a Turkic force of 400 million. When Turkic-origin Muslim states join this, this power will be the nightmare of the whole world. Neither America nor the Shanghai Cooperation will be superior to a united Turkic and Muslim force that has caught up with high technology and solved all the secrets of science, from atomic to hydrogen, from quantum to space technology, in the scientific field. We need science first. ‘Seek knowledge even if it is in China,' and ‘I would be a slave to one who teaches me a single word' tradition cannot be replaced by anything. The day will come when neither Russia, nor France, nor America will be able to support Armenian audacity. Armenia must come to its senses without delay, hand over Karabakh to its rightful owners, and apologize. Armenia should not forget that its only way to survive is to kiss the hand of Turkey and Azerbaijan.”
