Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who attended the “New Generation Global Problems” event organized by Kadıköy Anatolian Imam Hatip High School as a guest speaker, made evaluations regarding “New Generation Global Problems and Solution Proposals.” Emphasizing the importance of adopting the truths of ancient eras, Tarhan stated that instead of going back to the old era, it is necessary to bring it to the present, live it with today's attire, and preserve its essence. Tarhan said, “We will change the methodology and the attire. We will synthesize science and religious sciences.”
“Investment in people is important”
At the event held in the Kadıköy Anatolian Imam Hatip High School July 15 Conference Hall, Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized that young people interested in intellectual discussions are very valuable and will be cornerstones in future generations. Tarhan said; “Being together with young people and trying to answer their questions is very important from my perspective on life. Because young people in societies that are guided well, correctly, and beautifully, move towards what is good, correct, and beautiful. In other words, for young people, especially choosing the right philosophy of life, setting the right goals, and being able to manage themselves is the most important problem, and for a society, it is the most important goal. It is more important than security issues. Because in the medium and long term, it is a major security issue. In other words, investment in people is important, instead of investment in stone and soil. For this reason, from this vision perspective, young people are ahead of their time. For example, there is a saying of Hz. Ali; ‘Educate your children not according to your era, but according to the era they will live in,’ which is a tremendous universal observation. For this reason, young people who are interested in intellectual discussions rather than every entertainment are very valuable. They are the young people who will be cornerstones in future generations.”

“If you don't know where you are, it doesn't matter where you're going”
Tarhan emphasized that even if a person who does not know themselves has goals and ideals in the future, they will only be left with their idealistic side regarding the future because they do not know their strengths, weaknesses, and themselves, and spoke about a person being an idealist but unable to be a realist. Tarhan said; “If you make the correct diagnosis, healthy results are obtained during proper treatment. The same rule applies to social issues. Now, suppose you have a map and have made a diagnosis. You want to go somewhere on the map. Before you go to that place, you need to know your location. If you don't know where you are, it doesn't matter where you're going. If a person who does not know themselves, even if they have goals and ideals in the future, does not know their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and does not know themselves, then only idealism, meaning dreams, remains regarding the future. That is, they become an idealist but cannot be a realist. Therefore, let's first get to know ourselves. To know ourselves, we are now in Industry 4.0. So, what did we do in Industry 1.0, 2.0, 3.0? What did we do as a society, as a government? What did we miss? And what do we need to do to prevent history from repeating itself? Without seeing this, we cannot look at events and today from a bird's-eye view. First, it is necessary to make the correct diagnosis. I must say, we missed Industry 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. We missed it as a society, as a country. But we have a very high chance of catching Industry 4.0.”
“The mobile phone became the open door of the house”
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan pointed out that humanity is heading for the worse if the disease of egoism and worldliness is not treated; “If we look at this transformation in the world, there's a new Hollywood-originated popular culture. There's popular propaganda. This creates a serious defense in us. Social births used to protect society. Now, the mobile phone has become the open door of the house. Everything enters from there. The safe environment of the home is gone. Families, homes were once castles. The castle was the last refuge. That, too, has disappeared. Currently, in Turkey, as in the world, single-household fragility has increased. This means the rate of dissolution has also increased. The increase in this fragility means the disintegration of the family, which is the cornerstone of society. This is currently happening in Europe, in Northern Europe. If we don't take precautions, this will await us in 20-30 years. What happens then? In an environment where free ideas spread, various social diseases and psychological disorders increase. Violence increases, suicide increases, loneliness increases. In fact, there's a decision made in Davos in 2018. It states there are 3 major dangers facing the world. The first is climate change. We see the world, we experienced it last year. We generally experience it. Heavy snow fell. Can you imagine? The second is economic diagnosis. Globally, it says. And the third is loneliness. In the background of loneliness mentioned at Davos, there is also egoism in the field of globalization and individualism. So, there were these two social diseases in society. If we don't treat the disease of egoism and worldliness, humanity is heading for the worse. The cure for that is in our hands. It is the belief in Tawhid (Oneness of God).”

“A personality with a broken chronology cannot be social, cannot produce work”
Tarhan touched upon the issue that we need to learn lessons from some past situations; “Just as we don’t wear the clothes of our ancestors from 100-200 years ago now. If many things have changed, it is certainly possible to multiply these… In the face of this situation, our perspective today can be of two types. One is to completely reject these, reject this novelty, and live anachronistically, with a broken chronology. This is like living in an era 200-300 years ago. I want to elaborate on this a bit. For example, a person comes, they are 20 years old, but we do a personality analysis. They don't want to grow up in their childhood. They are stuck in their childhood, at 7-8 years old. They want to live at that age. They don't leave their mother's side. At 17, they still want their mother to breastfeed them. This is now a clinical case. There are such cases. These individuals do not want to grow up. The mother also feeds into this in such situations, of course. In this case, it becomes a personality with a broken chronology. That person cannot be social, cannot produce work. They miss the entire rhythm of life. For example, when Yavuz Sultan Selim went to Egypt, he went there with cannons. They also had cannons in Egypt. But the Ottoman cannons were rotating cannons. Such mobile cannons moved quickly from behind. Military historians know this. In this way, he crosses the impassable desert there and defeats them. After that, it is said that the commanders of Egypt at that time debated with Yavuz Sultan Selim. There's a debate of 'You didn't win, we lost.' Then that leader in Egypt says; 'Your cannons were rotating cannons compared to ours, they were cannons with high mobility.' For this reason, he lost the war because he was against innovation. Therefore, these are some past situations from which we need to learn lessons. It is the same in sociological changes now.”
“Instead of going to the old era, we will bring it to today”
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that another approach is to preserve the essence and change the methodology; “What will we do? We will take the truths of ancient eras. Instead of going to the old era, we will bring it to today. We will live it with today's attire. We will preserve the essence. We will change the methodology. We will change the attire. We will synthesize science and religious sciences. For example, Hegel, one of the philosophers of the Enlightenment era, says; ‘Everything rational is real, and everything real is rational.’ If we consider the Quran today, let them mention a single article of the Quran that is not rational. Regarding this, I wrote the first volume of the book 'Psychology of Wisdom,' published by Timaş Publications during the pandemic. In it, I rationally refuted evolution using quantum physics and intelligent design for creation in the manner of evolution, with the information present there. Intelligent design, based on physics, evolution, the existence of nature, and the belief in Tawhid, can only explain this Tawhid with intelligent design. We can explain existence. In other words, the subject of Tawhid is the most rational explanation. We can explain it according to quantum physics. For this reason, when someone in the Quran is asked about destiny and the afterlife, I liken it to this… If you first correct your conception of God in your mind, then these subjects can be discussed. A person who does not believe in Tawhid, who does not believe that the Creator is eternally absolute, whose knowledge is absolute, whose will is absolute, whose wisdom is absolute, whose power is absolute, a person who does not have a conception of God, cannot understand destiny. They cannot understand the afterlife. They must first understand Tawhid. That is, you cannot explain higher mathematics to someone who does not know basic mathematics. Here, you cannot explain anything to someone who does not know the belief in Tawhid.”
Biological sex is genetic!
Biological sex is genetic and is defined as female and male. The existence of a third gender identity was investigated by Oxford University, but it was revealed that such a gene does not exist. This study is an evidence-based work conducted on 500,000 people. There are three types of gender. These are biological sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation. The issue of gender identity has no scientific or biological basis. It is formed by social and cultural learning. There is much evidence for this.
Evidence-1 There is the Ukrainian “Feral Child, Oxana Malaya” case related to this. A child with alcoholic parents was found in Ukraine. Since the parents were alcoholics, they did not care for the child. When this child was examined, it was understood that the child grew up among dogs and was raised by dogs without the parents' knowledge. When the child was found at the age of ten, she barked like a dog, submerged herself under water like a dog, and ate like a dog. Such a child. A girl was found, but they observed that she was neither a girl nor a boy. But beyond that, she wasn't even human. That is, that child adopted the social role of a dog through social learning. Let alone male or female gender, the child was forcibly taught to stand upright over the years. This actually shows us that identities are something taught through social learning. There is no innate, genetic basis for it. Sexual urges exist as biological sexes, male and female. Gender identity is related to social learning. It is something learned later. The child acts like the environment in which they grow up.
Evidence-2 Just as a person raised among dogs behaves like dogs, a boy raised among individuals who behave femininely becomes feminine. We see this extensively in our clinical practice. Freud's observation is also in this direction. You see the mother is overprotective, dominant, but anti-male. The boy derives his sexual identification from the mother, and because he cannot identify with the father, his gender identity becomes feminine or the opposite. In some cases, the family raises their child with the expectation of a boy. They dress the child in boys' clothes at a young age. This situation is seen as cute until adolescence. But after adolescence, when they are told to dress this way or that way, the child objects and starts to go down that path.
These are formed by social learning and require therapy if the person accepts it.
“Reducing the World Population is a Game of Global Capital”
Prof. Dr. Tarhan stated that some people are trying to implement projects to reduce the world population under the guise of sexual freedom; “Homosexuality is actually entirely a population reduction project in the world. This opinion existed four or five years ago; an EU project came before us. We looked at the project; it was about addiction but promoted gender neutrality. And I asked, 'Could you research its funding source?' My colleagues researched the funding source. For the United Nations Population Fund, meaning some people have submitted reports to the United Nations population plan, conducting studies under the guise of addiction and struggle, under the guise of sexual freedom, to somehow impose gender neutrality on society. They are paying very large sums of money for this situation. Currently, there are those who use these projects. They are calculating the world's trajectory to reduce the world population. They see many things right now. That is, towards the end of the 21st century, the world population will be thirty billion. Thinking 'we cannot feed them,' they are producing solutions that are not correct in their own view. They think humanity will devour each other. Because they do not think that Allah provides sustenance, they act in this way, and they have succeeded in Europe. Marriage rates have fallen, and the number of children has fallen. This issue is not innocent at all. That is, it is a very important issue beyond someone saying 'I am trans and I want to live this way.'” he stated.
