Physicians who have completed 50 years in their professional careers were honored by the Istanbul Medical Chamber as part of March 14 Doctors' Day. Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, also took his place among the physicians who received awards on this special day. Tarhan is highly regarded for his work in both clinical and academic fields.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who focuses on societal benefit and adopts preventive mental health as a fundamental principle, has completed half a century in his profession.


In this context, a service plaque award ceremony was held at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall for those who completed their 50th year in the profession, with the participation of leading figures from the healthcare community.

Throughout the past 50 years, Tarhan has been a great source of inspiration not only as a clinician but also with his academic work. His plaque was presented by Recep Koç, Head of the Family Medicine Commission of the Istanbul Medical Chamber.


Tarhan's pioneering work in the field of psychiatry, the books he authored, and his academic work at Üsküdar Üniversitesi are globally recognized.

Previously in 2015, Tarhan was among those awarded with a plaque at the ceremony honoring physicians who had completed their 40th year.
The ceremony was held at the Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine Auditorium.
