Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk: “This century is the age of life sciences”

Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, who delivered the opening speech of the event, pointed out that with the development of computer technologies, information production and sharing have accelerated greatly.  Konuk stated; “Today we are gathered here for the 5th Molecular Biology and Genetics Days. In fact, we are holding the 13th of these events. We first started in 2013, together with the Bioengineering department. As you know, this century is the age of biology, or more broadly, life sciences. With the development of computer technologies, information production and sharing have accelerated greatly. In our field, information doubles every 20-22 months. Therefore, closely following global developments and staying up-to-date is now a necessity. In recent years, not only classical biology but also hybrid fields have begun to emerge. For example, bioinformatics, pharmacogenetics, nutrigenetics. The fundamental knowledge you gain at university is just a beginning. You can decide which area to specialize in through events like these.”

Expert names in their fields met with students
