Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk met with the students who are diligently working. The meeting, held at the Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus, Emir Nebi 1 Conference Hall, was also attended by trainers and coordinators from the Provincial National Education Camp.
Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk: “The world we live in now is the age of information”
Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, stating that everything begins with imagination; “Einstein says regarding imagination, ‘Imagination is more important than knowledge.’ If you are thinking of producing knowledge or creating something new, it must first come to your imagination, and you must then materialize that imagination. As you materialize that imagination, you acquire and learn knowledge. The world we live in now is the age of information; we are living in the age of information, and in this age, it is extremely important to learn, produce, and make what you produce applicable. This era has given universities a new mission. Next-generation universities will now produce knowledge and make the knowledge they develop and produce available to society. In other words, society will always benefit from that knowledge.” he said.
“These 'deliler' were individuals who had conquered death”
Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, speaking about the film ‘Deliler’; “The Deliler Hearth (unit) includes some rituals originating from ancient Shamanic beliefs and the Central Asian Turkic geography. For example, we tie cloths to a tree. These are actually behaviors stemming from our ancient beliefs. Just like our nation, other nations also have many practices derived from their old religions. In fact, if you look at their clothing, it was chosen to appear more imposing and strike fear into the opposing side. These 'deliler' had conquered death, meaning they had no fear of death. They sacrificed their lives for their state and nation. As stated in our pledge, these people said, ‘My existence be a gift to the Turkish existence.’ Currently, the Republic of Turkey also needs such a hearth (unit).” he stated.
“Our duty is to invest in technology…”
Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, stating that the new generation's goals are to invest in technology; “Look around you, is there any country that is friendly towards us? No. These are actually pawns, but there are those who control these pawns. Therefore, we must always stand strong against them. Those who will achieve this steadfastness will be the 'deliler' of today. In other words, these people should be the rock that nourishes our souls and our dreams. Thanks to our generation, in terms of next-generation treatments, stem cell therapy, and all kinds of scientific and technological equipment, we are not one inch behind America. Here, our duty is to invest in technology. And you 'deliler' are the ones who will produce this technology. We 'deliler' will hand over the flag to you 'deliler'.” he stated.
The event concluded after a group photo session.
