Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir's New Book Takes Its Place on the Shelves

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Üsküdar University and Director of the Environmental Ethics Forum, has had his book titled Care for Creation: An Islamic Perspective published by Viverealtrimenti Publishing House in England.

Prof. Dr. Özdemir emphasized that he prepared the title of his new book, Care for Creation: An Islamic Perspective, inspired by Yunus Emre's saying 'We love the created for the sake of the Creator,' and stated that his book offers an Islamic perspective on environmental protection.

Prof. Dr. Özdemir highlighted that climate change and environmental issues are currently on the world's agenda, and emphasized the significant importance of the environmental understanding of the 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide, stating, 'In this book, I tried to set forth Islamic principles regarding the environment. My aim is to clearly show how Muslims see or should see the environment.'

Stating that a more harmonious life with the environment is possible and that he maintains his hope in this regard, Prof. Dr. Özdemir said: 'If this small work helps in the development of environmental consciousness, all humanity will benefit. Because the environment belongs to all of us. Or, to put it more accurately, the environment has been entrusted to all of us by Allah. Therefore, our greatest responsibility should be to treat this trust in the best way possible, not to pollute it, and not to destroy it. Furthermore, what needs to be done should be done now and here; we should not leave anything for tomorrow.'
