Political Scientist Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, evaluating PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's call to the terrorist organization, "All groups should lay down their arms and PKK should dissolve itself," said: "While the statements in Öcalan's letter such as 'PKK should dissolve itself, meaning disband. PKK no longer has any meaning and this party should convene its congress and disband itself… PKK should lay down its arms' are positive, the political power of someone who has been imprisoned for 27 years has also weakened."

Prof. Dr. Arslan stated, "The Turkish army had already finished PKK. This is the success of the Turkish army and the Turkish nation despite all obstacles. Öcalan's letter is a confirmation of this."

Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, evaluated PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's call to the terrorist organization: "All groups should lay down their arms and PKK should dissolve itself."

In Turkey, the divide and rule game was played through the Turkish-Kurdish conflict

Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan explained that the international imperialist mind, with its classic divide-and-rule tactic, first sowed seeds of discord among different nations that brought empires together through nationalism, while simultaneously dismantling these empires. This was achieved by clashing them and exploiting their irreconcilable differences. She continued:

"The collapse of the Ottoman Empire is an example of this. Now, the same global imperialist mind is fragmenting nation-states based on races, ethnic groups, sects, and religions. Unfortunately, they succeeded in Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria.

In Turkey, the same game, that is, the game of dividing and ruling Turkey ethnically, sectarianly, etc., was played through the Turkish-Kurdish conflict. After the 1980 coup, the systematic assimilation, oppression, and violence applied by the military junta on the Kurdish people were done so that the people would rebel, support terrorism and armed uprising, and seeds of hostility would be sown. This was an imperialist plan and was carried out by the military junta."

Abdullah Öcalan caused our country great suffering

Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan noted that international imperialist powers supported both the armed wing of Kurdish political separatism since the 1980 coup and 'the pressure exerted by the fascist military junta on the Kurdish people and especially on Kurdish intellectuals who were against armed separatism.' She stated, "The aim was for PKK to remain the sole Kurdish organization and ultimately for Turkey to be divided. The operator of this game in Turkey, supposedly on behalf of the Kurdish people, was PKK and its imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan. He caused our country great suffering and financial losses amounting to trillions of dollars. It is not rational to expect help from such a structure today. While the statements in Öcalan's letter such as 'PKK should dissolve itself, meaning disband. PKK no longer has any meaning and this party should convene its congress and disband itself… PKK should lay down its arms' are positive, the political power of someone who has been imprisoned for 27 years has also weakened. The Turkish army had already finished PKK. This is the success of the Turkish army and the Turkish nation despite all obstacles. Öcalan's letter is a confirmation of this."

The goal is for PYD in Syria to be recognized by Turkey

Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan predicted that just as terrorism did not end when Öcalan was imprisoned, terrorism will not end after this letter either, it will merely change its address, until the imperialists' plan to fragment Turkey is over. She concluded her words as follows:

"Because the plan of global imperialism is a continuation of the Turkish-Kurdish conflict for the 'Greater Israel' scenario. Already today, PKK is structured within the PYD forces. Given that the PKK threat within the country has been minimized, PKK laying down its arms no longer has any meaning or importance. The goal is for PYD in Syria to be recognized by Turkey. The only solution, now that denial policies have also been abandoned, is for the Turkish and Kurdish peoples to live in peace, tranquility, and prosperity in unity, by being aware against imperialist plans."
