Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör and her accompanying delegation paid a visit to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Mücahit Yentür, the newly appointed Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education, in his office. Wishing Yentür success in his new role, Güngör exchanged ideas on maintaining and developing educational cooperation in many areas, particularly the ongoing Science and Idea Festival for high schools.
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, and Corporate Communications Department Head Tahsin Aksu attended the visit at the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.
During the visit, which took place in a very cordial atmosphere, Rector Güngör and her accompanying delegation conveyed their congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Mücahit Yentür, who recently started his new position.
Ideas were also exchanged on developing and continuing cooperation in education in the new period.
Who is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Mücahit Yentür?
Murat Mücahit Yentür was born in the Maden district of Elazığ. Yentür completed his primary and secondary education in Maden and high school in Yalova. Starting his undergraduate studies in the Geography Department of Istanbul Üniversitesi Faculty of Letters, Yentür pursued his postgraduate education in different major scientific fields at the Geography Department of Istanbul Üniversitesi Institute of Social Sciences and the Leadership and Global Entrepreneurship Department of Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi.
Yentür completed his doctorate at Marmara Üniversitesi Institute of Educational Sciences and earned the title of associate professor in the field of educational sciences. Believing that education is a lifelong process, Yentür continues his master's studies in the Educational Administration and Supervision Department at Istanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Institute of Graduate Education.
In addition to his academic work, he served as a visiting lecturer at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim Üniversitesi Faculty of Education, Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, İzmir Demokrasi Üniversitesi Faculty of Education, and Ege Üniversitesi Institute of Educational Sciences.
He authored numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, presented papers at various symposiums, and contributed as an author to book chapters. He also continued his work by participating in projects on 'Development of In-Service Training for Teachers' at Birmingham City University in England and İnterier Beira University in Portugal.
Yentür started his career as a teacher at İstanbul Yavuz Selim Primary School, affiliated with the Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı (Ministry of National Education); he served as Assistant Principal at Fatih Ahmet Rasim Anatolian High School, Head Assistant Principal at Pertevniyal High School, and School Principal at Bahçelievler Anatolian High School and Çapa Anatolian Teacher High School/Science High School.
Yentür served as the Şişli District Director of National Education between 2014 and 2021, and as İzmir Provincial Director of National Education between 18.08.2021 and 25.08.2023. On 29.08.2023, he was appointed as the İstanbul Provincial Director of National Education.
